SPORTS DAY

Thanks to Mrs. Toews and her grade 7

students who planned, organized and

ran an incredible day for us to enjoy. The

activities were fun, and everyone had a

good time.

Thanks also to next year’s grade 7 parent

group for running the concession, and

offering delicious treats to enjoy.

The ‘100 Nights of Reading’ program is

now completed. All forms should be in the office

by now, (25, 50, 75 and 100 Nights). We have

approximately 110 students who have reached

their goal of reading for 100 nights. Way to go!

Lost and FoundLost and FoundLost and FoundLost and Found

Lost and Found items are currently on

display in the main hallway. Please make

sure you check out all the items to make

sure none of them belong to your

child(ren). Any items that remain will be

donated to a local charity.

Library and Text Books

All school library books are now due. We are presently taking inventory and accounting for

our books. As well, text books should also be returned to school at this time. The average cost

of a library book is approximately $30, and for a text book, it is about $65; so it is imperative

that all of our books are accounted for, as we have limited financial resources to purchase new

ones.

Donations of Gently Used Backpacks and Children's Clothing Needed

Mrs. Bootsma, one of our Education Assistants, will be returning to Guatemala again this fall. While she is there, she will be working with a team providing wheelchairs and other aid to disabled Guatemalans. In addition, she will be working with a Social Worker visiting many families to assess the family needs and to drop off food packages, hygiene kits, clothing and backpacks.

If you are planning on getting your child a new backpack for September, please drop off your gently used one during the last week of school at the box by the office. Clothing for kids, as well as small toothpastes and soaps, etc., for hygiene kits, are also welcomed.

Thanks so much for your support!

Last Day of SchoolLast Day of School

Early DismissalEarly Dismissal

Please note that all students will be dismissed early

on Thursday, June 26th. Although students will

not need a lunch on this day, a larger recess snack

would be advisable. Please ensure that arrange-

ments are made to pick up your child(ren) at this

time.

YEAR END

ASSEMBLY

Our Year End Assembly will take

place on Monday, June 23rd, at

1:30 p.m. All parents and other

family members are invited to at-

tend the assembly. We will be rec-

ognizing many students for their

achievements and honouring those teachers and

students who are leaving Bothwell at the end of

this year. We hope that you will be able to join

us.

The Teacher Appreciation Luncheon on June 10th was most enjoyable and delicious. Thank you to all of

the parents who contributed food items and/or served us a wide variety of tasty dishes, including appetiz-

ers, salads, dips, savoury meats, desserts and a punch. Many staff members, including myself, wanted to

take naps following the feast. It definitely beat out our usual lunch bag fare of leftovers. You

made our day. Thank You!
