    Disposal of yourold appliance

    o Unplug your old appliance from the mainselectricity supply and cut the power cable.

    o Appliances of this kind contain refrigerants whichneed to be disposed of in accordance withcurrent regulations.

    o Do not dispose of your old appliance yourself.Get in touch with your local council or othercompetent body for information about how bestto dispose of it.

    Before connectingyour newappliance

    o Read the instructions book before using yourappliance for the first time. It contains importantinformation, not only concerning use, butmaintenance and personal safety as well.

    o Keep this instructions book. It may be useful forlater owners.

    o Do not turn a damaged appliance on. o Your appliance must be assembled and

    connected in accordance with the assemblyinstructions and current regulations. If theseinstructions are not observed, you run the risk oflosing your warranty.

    o All our appliances are made in accordance withpresent-day safety regulations. Only techniciansinstructed in these matters are authorised torepair them. Your safety is at stake.

    o Make sure that the drainage plugs are properlyinserted. They may have come lose duringtransportation.

  • Requirements for Use

    o This appliance must be connected to a 220/240V 50 Hz mains electricity supply using anearthed plug.

    o It must be protected with a 10 A slow-action fuse. o Should an extension lead be needed, this lead

    must be at least 1,5 mm2 per terminal thick, nomore than 25 m. long and earthed.

    o There is a cavity at the back of the appliance forthe mains electricity supply connection wire.

    o Do not allow water to enter the appliance.o Do not block the air inlets or outlets on your

    appliance, especially when used for heating.

    Should the mains electricity supply wire bedamaged in any way, it must only be replaced witha wire of similar characteristics. Get in touch withthe manufacturer, after-sales service or similarlyqualified person.

    Warning!

    If the appliance is turned off and then turnedback on again, there is a 3-minute intervalbefore the compressor starts up again. Thisinterval is necessary in order for the applianceto work properly.

    Transportationrequirements

    There are castors fitted on your appliance to makemoving it easier. If it is necessary to tilt yourappliance in order to move it, then the internalwater tank must be drained first. To do this, connectdrainage pipe to stopcock at the bottom of theappliance.

    Warning!

    Be particularly careful when transporting thisunit. There is a water drainage pipe on thebottom of the appliance which may break ifknocked.

    o Plug your appliance in.o Lead the hot-air expulsion duct outdoors.o Set to maximum or silent temperature

    control.

    o Turn the drainage stopcock to the coolingposition.

    o Set the thermostat to the desired temperature.Should the appliance turn itself off by thermostat,it will not come back on again until roomtemperature goes up 2-3C.

    The appliance lowers the temperature and dries theair in the room at the same time in order to createideal air conditions.

    Condensed water formed during air conditioningevaporates automatically and is expelled outdoors,together with hot air, through the hot-air expulsionduct. In conditions of extreme humidity, theappliance accumulates water in an internal tank.When the water in this tank reaches a certain level,safety pilot light comes on, indicating that the tankneeds to be emptied.

    o Turn the appliance off and wait 10 minutes forthe safety systems to reset.

    o Turn drainage stopcock 90 in an anti-clockwisedirection.

    o Remove the plug from stopcock 10 and insertdrainage pipe.

    o Place a bowl at the drainage pipe outlet to collectthe condensed water in.

    o Set the appliance to either the temperaturecontrol or dehumidification position.

    Warning!

    Do not forget to put the plug back in place onthe drainage stopcock and to turn the stopcock90 in a clockwise direction before setting theappliance to the temperature control setting.The appliance will shed water if you fail to doso.

    o Connect the diffusion duct to the hot-airexpulsion duct.

    o Open the window slightly and feed the diffusionduct through the gap.

    o Close the window as much as possible andsecure it in place using the suction pad provided.

    Temporary installation

    Permanent installation The appliance can be installed on a permanentbasis using window/wall Optional Accessory,reference B1 RKZ 06009, available from yoursupplier.

    o A hole must be made in the wall and the wallaccessory fitted in order to expel hot air.

    o Store the diffusion duct away and connect the airexpulsion duct to the accessory.

    o Only the transparent end section of theaccessory is used when air is to be expelledthrough a window on a permanent basis. A 10.5-cm. diameter hole must be made in the glass inorder to fit the accessory.

    N.B.

    Do not extend the hot-air expulsion duct morethan necessary (maximum length: 140 cm.).

    There must be a distance of at least 70 cm.between the floor and the end of the duct.

    Do not bend the duct too sharply when positioningit.

    This can impede proper hot-air expulsion, whichmay reduce cooling efficiency.

    The air inside a room is circulated through a set ofpurifying filters when the appliance is set to thisfunction.o The appliance comes with a main filter with a

    double active purifying filter. This special filter isfor:- Smells and smoke.- Pollen, bacteria and dust.

    o Put the air expulsion duct in the same position asfor dehumidification.

    o Set purification speed setting: maximumor silent .

    o When the appliance or the model is fitted withoptional filters,we recommend you leave theoptional filters in position regardless of thedesired function setting (cooling,dehumidification, air purification). The appliancepurifies the air more efficiently in this way.

    When set to , the appliance removes humidityfrom the atmosphere. It does not, however, controlthe temperature.

    o Turn drainage stopcock 90 in an anti-clockwisedirection.

    o Remove stopcock plug and insert drainage pipe.stored in the main filter compartment.

    o Place a bowl at the drainage pipe outlet to collectthe condensed water in.

    o Put the air extraction duct in storage position.o Set control knob to dehumidification position .o The amount of water removed from the air can

    reach as much as 30 liters/24 hours, dependingon atmospheric conditions.

    Warning!

    Do not forget to put the plug back in place onthe drainage stopcock and to turn thestopcock 90 in a clockwise direction beforesetting the appliance to the temperaturecontrol setting. The appliance will shed watershould you fail to do so.

    Always remember that in order for thedehumidification function to work properly,ambient temperature must be at least 18C.

  • o Clean the air filter.o Then clean the casing and grilles if necessary.

    Cleaningo The appliance is equipped with a main air filter.

    This filter must be removed, washed with water,dried and refitted on a regular basis.

    o The set of accessory purifying filters, referenceB1 RKZ 09013, must be replaced with a new setevery year in order to work efficiently. Contactyour supplier.

    o The filters must be fitted as shown in figures. o Place only one set of filters onto fixture to avoid

    affecting cooling efficiency.

    o The appliance can be cleaned with a cloth orsponge, warm water and mild detergent.

    o Never use hot water (more than 40C), bleach,petrol-based products, acids or brushes whencleaning your appliance. Prevent water enteringthe appliance.

    o Do not clean your appliance with a hose.

    o Make sure that the appliance is plugged inproperly.

    o Make sure that the control knob is not set to "off" .

    o Make sure that there is power in the mainselectricity supply and all the fuses are in workingorder.

    o Set the thermostat to a lower temperature.

    o Place the appliance on a flat surface. If the pilotlight still doesnt go out, then empty theappliances internal water tank. (See instructionsfor Temperature Control).

    o Make sure that the drainage stopcock is set tothe right position.

    o Make sure that the connections on hot-airexpulsion duct are in working order.

    o Make sure that the expulsion duct is notexcessively bent or longer than 140 cm.

    o Make sure that drainage stopcock is set to thetemperature control position.

    o Use the suction pad to make the opening on thewindow as small as possible.

    o Lower blinds if available to reduce direct sunlight.

    o Make sure that the air extraction duct is properlyfitted onto the appliance.

    o Make sure that the appliances air inlets andoutlets are free from obstruction.

    o If the noise sounds like water flowing, then this isdue to the pump which circulates water aroundthe system so as to enhance the efficiency of theappliance.
