Existing Conditions• Woodland Pavement Resurfacing

– One of first 12 “macadamized” roads in Madison in 1900.– Loantaka to Green completely resurfaced in 2008.– Noe Ave east to Chatham Twp line curbs, drains, resurface in 1993.– Central section from Green to Noe has not been resurfaced in over 20

years, except for resurfacing done in areas affected by infrastructure replacement work.

– Due to length and overall cost, the central section will have two phases.

• Woodland Traffic conditions– Average Daily Trip counts are 7,200 and suitable for State Funding.– Many side streets can be better defined for vehicles and pedestrians.– Key intersections such as Samson Ave can be improved with grading,

geometry, accessible walks and improved visibility.– Inconsistent or unexpected changes in curvature, width and profile of

road occur which do not help driver, bicycle or pedestrian safety.– Consistent treatment of curbs, aprons, ramps, inlets, bikeway, crossings

and certain sidewalks will improve overall safety of users.
