My dear friends,

In our long journey of faith God has sent suitable pastors throughout the years. I remember them with gratitude, especially Fr. Jojimon Thomas MCBS, the last par-ish priest who handed over the ministry to me. Like him I too belong to the Mis-sionary Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament (MCBS). I was born in Kerala, the Southern State of India. Then our family migrated to Karnataka State, near Banga-lore. I was ordained in 1998. I came to this beautiful land Australia in January 2018 to do my ministry in the Archdiocese of Brisbane. After my first appoint-ment at Southport, Gold Coast I reached here on 23rd September 2019 to join you, in your journey of faith. After a couple of days of ministry here I gained the impression of how rich this community was in its spirituality and traditions. There is a beautiful history behind this parish which goes back more than a century. I had heard about the strength of this parish from many people before I arrived. The efficient and committed parish leadership team and staff, the active participa-tion of the faithful in the celebration of parish life and Sacred Liturgy, the vibrant connection with our educational institutions, welcoming attitude - great hospitali-ty, the love for the Sacred Heart of Jesus and more than a century long tradition make this parish really spiritually rich.

I am reminded of the words of St. Paul as he advises Timothy in the second read-ing today “you have been trusted to look after something precious, guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us” (2 Timothy 1:6). I too believe that I am entrusted with a precious gift of this parish to look after and to safeguard its rich patrimony. As the Apostles ask Jesus in the Gospel today let us pray “Lord in-crease our faith” LK: 17:5). And let us serve the community with an attitude of humility as Jesus advises the apostles in today’s Gospel because after doing eve-rything “we were merely servants: we have done no more than our duty”. (LK: 17.10) May we do our duty that God has entrusted to us to the best of our abil-ity.

May the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus unite us. May Mother Mary, the Perpet-ual Lady of our help, enable us to keep the flame of faith burning brightly within our community.

Let us make this joyful journey together. God bless you.

The Booval Catholic Parish acknowledge the Jagera, Yuggera and Ugarapul people, the Traditional Custodians who have walked upon and cared for this land for thousands of years.

How is God calling us to be a Christ-centred Church that is Inclusive, Participatory & Synodal?

This National Theme for Discernment is inspired by the voices of the People of God who expressed a desire for individuals and groups within and also beyond the Church to find a better welcome and be incorporated more into her life and mission. There was a call to renew forms of gov-ernance and leadership in the Church, to find ways formal-ly and informally of being co-responsible for ministry and mission, seeking structures and processes of collaboration, shared decision-making and financial co-responsibility in order to enable this greater involvement of lay people par-ticularly of women, young people, people of diverse cul-tural backgrounds and people with disabilities. There was an expressed need for stronger connections across the many parts of the Church, and with other Christian tradi-tions.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Come to the song, come to the dance.

Bring all you are, bring all you be.

Come with your voice,

come with your heart.

Come and journey with me.

Come and journey with me.

Come let the sun fill up your eyes.

Take the time to look around,

And love, just love, and walk

with each other,

Come and journey with me.

Come and journey with me.

(Interlude)

Come and see, come and be.

Be all you are and all you can be,

And leave all behind and calm your mind.

COMMUNION We Remember We remember how you loved us

to your death,

And still we celebrate,

for you are with us here;

And we believe that we will see you

When you come in your glory, Lord.

We remember, we celebrate,

we believe.

Here, a million wounded souls

Are yearning just to touch you

and be healed.

Gather all your people,

and hold them to your heart.

Now we recreate your love,

We bring the bread and wine

to share a meal;

Sign of grace and mercy,

the Presence of the Lord;

Christ, the Father’s great “Amen”

To all the hopes and dreams

of ev’ry heart,

Peace beyond all telling,

and freedom from all fear.

See the face of Christ revealed

In ev’ry person standing by your side,

Gift to one another,

and temples of your love.
