About Palembang
Palembang is the capital city of South Sumatra province in Indonesia. It is one of the oldest cities in the Malay
Archipelago and Southeast Asia.
Palembang is located in the Musi River Banks on the east of the coast of southern Sumatera.
Palembang is split by the Musi River , which can be crossed
over the Ampera Bridge , which serves as a means of transport and trade across the river.
The local language of Palembang, Musi, belongs to the same group as Malay. Palembang's primary religion is Islam, but many of the inhabitants also practice Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Confucianism.
About Palembang
Since ancient times, Palembang has been a cosmopolitan port city which absorbs neighboring, as well as foreign, cultures and influences. The influences and cultures of coastal Malay, inland Minangkabau, Javanese, Indian,
Chinese, and Arab, has created a rich Palembang culture.
Palembang has a tropical rainforest climate with relatively high humidity and sometimes significant winds. The
temperature ranges from 23.4 to 31.7 degrees Celsius.
Palembang is famous for its local cuisine called pempek Palembang. It is a Pempek served in sweet
and sour sauce called kuah cuko.
eduACTion is a project that will be run in Palembang, which will help student at english course to increase their awareness about
english language by practical learning, and cross cultural
understanding.

eduACTion is a project that will help increasing the QUALITY of EDUCATION in Indonesia especially Palembang, by practical learning like teaching and involving in every events directly.
We will hold language classes that will provide the opportunity for young people to teach their native language to local people, International educational that will provide the locals with the
opportunity to have basic understanding of the languages and cultures of other countries in the world, and many other language and cultural diversity related events.

Thuy’s leg got injured during her stay in Palembang, and at that time, she never thought that so many people will helped her. She said that everyone will asked to help her eventhough they were not knowing each other. Along the project, she realized that
Indonesian is really kind, warm and friendly and Thuy also found out her second home.
