Wednesday 17 June, 1pm Patti Miller in conversation with Charlotte Wood Part philosophy, part memoir, ‘Ransacking Paris’ is the evocative and deftly woven story of a writer’s inner journey through the heart of Paris. Tuesday 23 June, 1pm Robert Wainwright ‘Maverick mountaineer’ is a biography of George Ingle Finch: mountaineer, soldier, scientist, rebellious spirit and boy from the Australian bush, who was, in his day, one of the most famous men in the world.

Baby Rhymetime is for children under 2 years and their parents & carers. It is held on Mondays at 10.30 and 11.30. Online bookings are essential at www.northsydney.nsw.gov.au/kidzone

A Ferry Good Time Sunday 2 August, 2-5pm Due to popular demand, a Ferry Trip is planned to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of North Sydney Council. Adults $20, Children 12 and under $15. Nan Manefield Young Writers’ Award The presentation of the Nan Manefield Young Writers’ Awards will be held on Wednesday 3 June at 7pm . All welcome. The winning entries will be displayed in the Library and on our website. Heritage Centre Exhibition— Final month Home Front: North Sydney and the Great War Some 4,000 men with local associations volunteered to fight between 1914 and 1918. This exhibition explores the impact of the First World War upon North Sydney using original photographs, objects and documents. Now open during Library hours.

North Shore Historical Society Thursday 11 June, 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Speaker: Dr Ian Hoskins, North Sydney Council Historian and author of Sydney Harbour: a history Topic: ‘We will see a town rising’ An illustrated history of North Sydney from pre-contact to the present day.
