Childhood J.R. Cash was born on February 26 1932.He was born in Kingsland , Arkansas. He went to school when he was young he went to school and in his free

time he worked in his fathers cotton field with his brothers and sisters.Cashes father was harsh when he or his siblings slacked off in the

cotton fields when one of Cashes older siblings had made a mistake his father whipped him with the leather reins from the mules.

Since the great depression affected many families president Franklin Roosevelt had set up a emergency relief effort to help families in distress. The Cashes then applied for the emergency relief they were accepted! The place was named Dyess.

One day when Cash had been walking home from fishing a car pulled up next to him it was his father and he said “get in” on the way he had found out his brother jack had been severely hurt in the saw mill. Later that day jack died and his father blamed him for his death.

His interest were music.

Time in U.S. air force

While on leave form the air force he went to a roller-skating rink he had met a nice Italian girl named Vivian Liberto.

He knew she was destined to become his first wife.After that Johnny Cash was deployed to west

Germany.There he was used to listen to radio communications

from the soviet union.He work 8 hour shifts in a room with no windows.He was part of the twelfth radio squadron mobile .He returned to the U.S. in 1954.On august 7 1954 he married Vivian in San Antonio.

Drug problemsIn July of 1957 Cash was on a tour with many famous

country music singers and players when a fiddle player named Gordon Terry handed him a small packet with pills in it.

The pills were called Benzedrine. During that time period the drug was legal and prescribed for mostly anything.

What the drug did was give you a burst of energy and the feeling of confidence. But some side affects were restlessness and fatigue.

Johnny Cash would struggle with drugs for the rest of his life.

Accomplishments First record made in 1952 with sun records. appeared at the grand ole opry.Featured in concert at Overton park shell.Came out with I walk the line and Folsom prison

blues.He then divorced Vivian.Married his 2nd wife June carter.Released the Fabulous Johnny Cash album.Created the famous Johnny cash show.He created many more albums and songs after this

period in his life.

PerseveranceJohnny Cash had shown perseverance in

many ways during his life.One way was he heard about his brothers

death he could have given up music as a child but instead he used it as a way to remember him.

Another way he showed perseverance is when he was hooked on drugs he did bad things such as break into peoples house. But instead of staying a junkie he tried to turn his life away from drugs.

despite his drug problem and his troubled life. He died on September 12 2003.
