Bonville Public School marched with great pride in memory of the original ANZAC and those men and women who have past as well as those who returned after serving their country with distinction so that we can enjoy the freedom and the lives we lead today. School ANZAC Day Bonville Public School commemorated the ANZAC today. We were again very fortunate to have Brenton Knight, student from Coffs Harbour Senior College (formerly Toormina High School) play the bugle. Brenton played the bugle for both the Coffs Harbour services on Saturday. Bonville students laid flowers next to the Roll Honour for Bonville Public School, given to the school in 1919. New faces in and around the school Over the coming weeks there will be additional faces at Bonville. Bonville Public School welcomes practicum students (Student Teachers) each year as part of our partnership with the Southern Cross University. The practicum students will spend time observing classroom routines, students and teaching practice. They will then begin a series of lesson instruction under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher. This is a great partnership as it not only helps prepare student teachers for the ‘real world’ of teaching but also benefits Bonville PS by having new pedagogy demonstrated across the school. Last week Mrs Nicole Bennett and Mrs Helen Phipp commenced their practicums. Hip Hop Dance Hip Hop kicked off last Thursday. The dance program seemed to be a hit with all children involved enjoying the lessons. School Cross Country Congratulations to the students who competed in the school cross country today. The Toormina District Cross Country carnival will be held on Friday 8 th May at the Sawtell Reserve. Students from 8 years old who finished in the top 12 of each age division will be invited to attend the carnival. Bouquet of flowers Thank you to all the wonderful students who represented Bonville Public School with great pride on Saturday at the ANZAC march. Assembly this week Kindergarten (Mrs Hunter’s class) will be presenting an item at this week’s assembly. Please note this week’s assembly will commence at 2:20pm in the Memorial Hall.
