The new suburb of Moncrieff is currently under civil construction just down the road from Bonner. Bound by Horse Park Drive to the North and by the existing suburbs of Ngunnawal and Amaroo to the South and East, Moncrieff will ultimately deliver approximately 2,125 dwelling sites to the market.

Moncrieff is being developed by the LDA as a residential estate comprising a mixture of single residential, medium and high density Multi Unit developments, community facility sites and commercial zones.

In addition, a Group Centre located at the main intersection of Mirrabei Drive and Horse Park Drive is proposed to be developed along the lines of an Urban Village similar to the O’Connor shops with a mix of commercial and residential uses within the precinct.

It is expected that purchasers of the first blocks will commence construction on their homes in mid to late 2015. Further information on Moncrieff is available from the LDA website www.lda.act.gov.au/moncrieff

The LDA has teamed up with Communities@Work to help deliver more for Bonner residents – and we want to hear from you!

Karen Jesson from Communities@Work is the Bonner Mingle Community Development Officer. Karen is planning a series of ‘Community Conversations’ to allow residents to have a say in shaping and developing the future of Bonner’s community.

An official invitation for this activity will be sent out to Mingle subscribers (visit www.lda.act.gov.au/bonner/bonner-mingle to sign up) and posted to Facebook soon, providing location, times and date for the first of three ‘Community Conversations’.

This is your opportunity to share your ideas and be part of the change you wish to see in your community. For further information, please contact Karen Jesson at [email protected]
