Classroom News The first week went really well and it was extremely busy. The kids are
very excited about school. We
received some new Social Studies
materials this year. The students
really enjoy the new United States
map and the new World map that are
hanging in the school. Arlene Sibly
has done three art classes with the
students. She and the students have
decorated a fence post that will be
put up by the Pinedale Library. It
looks really neat! Kindergartners
have been learning about the five
senses and seasons. They have also
been learning more about the
alphabet and shapes. First grade
students are learning about bugs,
harder addition, and sentence
structure. Fourth grade students are
learning more about Geometry and
Archeology. I am really looking
forward to this school year. I am
working with a great group of kids.

Bondurant Volunteer Fire Co. is busy with ongoing training. Please don't be alarmed if you see suited up firefighters in any given location in our community. The schoolhouse is a common location as the blacktop keeps our hoses clean. We will also be at various locations scouting the best areas to draft water, locate propane tanks, etc. so we can be prepared for emergencies. This summer members of our fire dept. have participated in the following wild land fires: Pole Creek - Pinedale Horse Creek - Myrna Hard Scrabble - Dubois Granite Creek Congratulations to: George Engler - Firefighter 1certification Dave Viebrock- Firefighter 2 certification Eric Schneider and Steve Robertson have passed their FF1 tests and are working on certification. Local News In August we finally got the rain we desperately needed. It came almost all it once and saturated our canyon hillsides that led way to five mudslides. It took them about 5 hours to open the highway back up and nearly a week to clear away the debris. Luckily no one was hurt. Maureen “Mo” O’Leary and a local veterinarian recently tried to rescue a juvenile owl on her property in Bondurant. Unfortunately the owl did not make it but will be used as a “study skin”-a museum quality education tool for the scientific community. Layne and Norris Brown drove in the Caliente 250 off-road race in May. Layne finished fourth and also participated in America’s longest rally race from Las Vegas to Reno. We look forward to the snow cross they will host this winter in Bondurant. Joy Ufford of Bondurant is writing for the Sublette Examiner. Watch for her great articles. She is always a great voice for our local community and issues.
Thanks Thank you to all of those who helped with the BBQ, Heritage Days and all of the community functions. As a few of you especially know they take a lot of work, time and effort. We could not have these functions if it were not for a select few people who routinely get in there and do the dirty work. We urge everyone to join in and help with anything you can. This will help ensure that Bondurant will continue to thrive as a community.
