Building a house is a complex process, which involves

several stakeholders.

Basically the process is well defined and the result

should be a safe and healthy building.

Reliable IoT data for Blockchain

Business driver in this case is trustworthiness:

verifiable and validated IoT data.

Blockchain solutions provides trust and reliability,

but the connection to real world can be the weak

link.

This Use Case offers scalable business

opportunities of IoT data validation, signature and

value adding attributes.

As trusted 3rd party service, network operator is

the only party that could provide the oracle service

having the access to the network data.

This Use Case is a key enabler for several cases

that require IoT data validation.

Blockchain Network Slice Broker in 5G

Network Slice Broker concept aims to enable

mobile virtual network operators, over-the-top

providers, and industry vertical market players to

request and lease resources from infrastructure

providers dynamically according to needs.

In the future digital factory, the leasing of

resources could also happen autonomously by

manufacturing equipment.

buyers in online market.

Permissioned ledger needed, banks are

the owners. Private blockchain for

information security reasons.

Payment related trust between participants

Results of the project (VTT, ETLA, Aalto)

In the beginning of the BOND-project (2016), Tekes was considering to organize a Blockchain

event at Q4/ 2016 or Q1/2017 to make Blockchain technology more known. However the 3

funded Blockchain projects, BOND, RECON and DSC Core had already created sufficient

Blockchain visibility and Tekes decided that there is not anymore the need for such a Tekes

organized event.

BOND project has gained a lot of visibility and it is very well known across Finland. It

has been promoted also to international contacts.

During the project: several one to one and one to many Blockchain workshops and

interviews. Both national and international. Arto Laikari (VTT), Timo Seppälä (ETLA/Aalto), Juri

Mattila (ETLA) et al.

Thanks to ”BOND-brand” project team has networked very well to the Finnish Blockchain world

BOND-project has well connected to the Blockchain standardization: Arto Laikari/VTT and Mika

Lammi / Kouvola Innovation are members of the Finnish Standards Association SFS – SFS/SR

229 Blockchain technologies group, which is the national mirror group of the ISO/TC 307

Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies group and through SFS involved with the ISO

Blockchain standardization as well as the European CEN/CENELEC standardization.

EU Blockchain Observatory and Forum

Connected to the EU Blockchain Observatory as a follower. Applied also to the call of

members to core Working Groups, but not qualified.

European Parliament draft Blockchain resolution

During the BOND-project execution, Blockchain world has matured.

Platform evolution has been strong

Standardization of Blockchain technologies has started

European Commission and Parliament have taken strong positive actions

concerning Blockchains and the use of them

In Finland many initiatives, actions and events have taken place with

Blockchain. Same has happened globally.

Project has researched and described several Blockchain Use Cases

and their feasibility as well as the value creation possibilities of the

Blockchain. Guidelines of the pilots to support further development has

been created. Also “attention need issues”, like governance and

identity management has been considered.

BOND main objective

To form an understanding of blockchain tools, technologies, solutions and

business possibilities in different domain areas, first focusing on Finnish

business environment.

BOND-project is nationally very well known and the team has networked

very well to the Finnish Blockchain landscape. BOND-team has received

lot of consultancy queries and invited to give speeches and answer

queries. There has also been several international promotions.

BOND vision

Finnish blockchain ecosystem consisting of public sector, research

organisations and companies fully exploits the potential of blockchain

technology in their research, business and technology portfolio. Finnish

blockchain development and solutions are internationally competitive and well-

known.
