BUT MOST OF IT STILL SUCKS.

“I can’t find anything”

“I don’t know where to look”

“This makes no sense to me.”

“Huh?”

“Why can’t it be more like Google?” “Why did they put that here?”

“I want to close my browser window and never come back.”

“I can’t find what I’m looking for”

“This site seems broken.”

“There’s too much stuff all over the place.”

“What am I supposed to do here?”

“It’s too hard to read.”

“I don’t know what to click on”

“It takes a million clicks to get to what you want.”

“It crashed.”

“It’s like they didn’t even think about it.”

“THIS IS LAME”

“WTF?”

OUR SERVICESWorkshops

We conduct half and full-day workshops at client locations that include presentations from our experts and hands-on exercises.

Expert AssessmentsAre you meeting your objectives online? Our experts in strategy and user experience design can perform an assessment of your goals and current site, and make recommendations for ways to improve.

Persona DevelopmentKnowing what to do online means knowing who your users are. We will conduct research and help you prioritize, resulting in a set of personas that will capture the most important information about your audience.

Concept PrototypesTap into our ideas for what you can do next online. Sometimes it’s more effective to brainstorm concepts independent of actually building them. This can help you build internal buy-in for your plans.

User Experience DesignWe excel at visual identity and branding, interaction design, information architecture, content strategy, and usability. We can deliver the documentation your existing development team needs to build the site, or we can help you evaluate potential partners and manage the entire process.

It Wasn't All Bad

Pierre, a 25-year-old African penguin, was getting so

old that he was losing his feathers. He shivered with

cold and refused to go near water. But his handlers at

the California Academy of Sciences had a novel

solution: a custom-made wet suit. Working with

Oceanic Worldwide, a supplier of diving gear, academy

scientists made Pierre a close-fitting rubber garment

with openings for his flippers, tail, and feet. “I would

walk behind him,” said biologist Pam Schaller, “and

look at where there were any gaps, and cut and refit

and cut and refit until it was extremely streamlined.”

Since wearing the suit, Pierre has gained weight and is

again splashing with his fellow penguins.

How to judge Clinton’s WestVirginia landslideHillary Clinton’s huge win in West Virginia

throws a wrench in Obama’s “certain victory”

in the Democratic primary, said Jennifer

help.” The government’s “brief flirtation with

openness and responsiveness” doesn’t mean

China is “headed toward Western-style

democracy,” said Andrew Jacobs in a New York

Times analysis, but . . .

the Roman Catholic faith was

life. That would seem to “raise certain

How to judge Clinton’s WestVirginia landslideHillary Clinton’s huge win in West Virginia

throws a wrench in Obama’s “certain victory”

in the Democratic primary, said Jennifer

Rubin in a Commentary blog, because no one

there liked him—not “women, seniors,

uneducated, educated, whites, poor people—

none of them.” So maybe Clinton is doing

Obama “a favor,” said E.J. Dionne in The

Washington Post, by exposing his and the

Democrats’ “weaknesses” . . .

What the earthquaketells us about ChinaChina’s leaders “have

marshaled an impressive

rescue,” said the Toronto Star

in an editorial, and the one

edict from Premier Jiabao, “Save the people,”

even extends to “welcoming the world’s offer of

help.” The government’s “brief flirtation with

openness and responsiveness” doesn’t mean

China is “headed toward Western-style

democracy,” said Andrew Jacobs in a New York

Times analysis, but . . .

The Vatican’sextraterrestrialendorsementThe Vatican’s top astronomer,

Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, said

the Roman Catholic faith was

not incompatible with believing in extraterrestrial

life. That would seem to “raise certain

uncomfortably absurd theological questions for

the Church," said Allahpundit in the blog Hot Air.

Actually, the idea of extraterrestrial life is “far

from a new one” for Christians, said Mike Nizza

in a New York Times blog . . .

Pessimism pandemicThe U.S. used to be “the great middle-class

nation,” says Thomas Frank in The Wall Street

Journal, but that may not be true any longer. We

used to be a nation of optimists, says Zachary

we’ve hit a dangerous “cultural rut of pessimism.”
