Bonchuk's Annual Bull Sale 2013

Welcome to our 11th Annual Bull Sale. Time does fly by! Every year we are fortunate to see many of the same people attend the sales; we have developed many long-lasting friendships and we treasure these rela-tionships. We would like to thank all our customers, both past and present, and we look forward to meeting many new customers in the future. Well-built, heavy-weight calves demanded high prices in the commercial market this fall. With the North American cow numbers at historic lows, it is hard to not be very excited for our industry. Populations across the globe are expanding exponentially so we know the demand for beef will only get stronger. Also, as industry economies straighten out; surely we will start to see our national cow herd begin the exciting rebuilding phase. This is a great time in our industry for youth and it is ever-encouraging to see younger people looking at beef production as a viable agricultural profession. We hope the next few years will be rewarding financially for those that remain and those who are starting out. Above all else, we hope it is a lot more fun for everyone involved. This is a year of positive changes for us; new sale date, new sale venue, and a LOT of new genetics. We have spent some time and invested in new bulls to offer improved genetics to the industry. Thick, hairy and beefy; we have a solid group of sound bulls that will work for many different types of producers. Reds, blacks, traditional Fullbloods, Full Fleck, Polled or horned; we are offering a variety of choices with stronger emphasis on beef and performance. Without sacrificing our commitment to maternal traits and calving ease; we have a select group of yearlings and an exclusive group of two-year olds that represent our genetic base. Herd bull selection is a major decision and customers should be as informed as possible. We welcome all calls, or visits, to help with your questions and selection. The bulls are always available for viewing at the farm anytime and we enjoy the opportunity to showcase the bulls in their natural environment. Welcome to the Bonchuk Farms Annual Bull Sale. dave & Wayne have made a number of changes to their annual event, the major ones being the date, location, and format. in consultation with many of Bonchuk Farm’s customers, the date will be considerably earlier, February 17. The location will be Virden at Heartland and, of course, the bulls will be sold in the ring. Bonchuks have done a great job developing the bulls. This year they are in very ideal condition. The Ridgeline sire group will be the largest, if you’re in the business of producing beef, you will love these meat machines. The family has really worked at using sires that produce beef bulls so sought after by purebred and commercial producers today. As i went through the sire groups, there are sires represented in the Ai and walking herdbull departments that will be a can’t-miss sale day. The walking herdbulls will be highlighted by Ridgeline, Rochfort, Renegade, Sting, R-Plus and Red Rock to name a few. The Ai division will feature Stubby, Baron, Justified and Real deal. Bonchuks will feature one of the largest offerings of Fullblood bulls in North America. The Reds and Blacks will be the “right kind”. Margaret Chastko is a young local artist that we have proudly show-cased at our sales over the years. We love the commitment she possesses; from rural beginnings to her progres-sion into the arts. Margaret grew up working with cattle and continued onto university where she gradu-ated from Brandon university with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree. She excels at charcoal portraits; her life on the farm is passionately recre-ated in her artwork with impressive realism. Her attention to detail and ability to transform livestock into stunning muses make her an artist worth watching. We will continue to support this amazing young talent as she continues to develop her craft. Feel free to talk to Margaret at the sale about custom work or any of the prints she will have on display.

We are auctioning off one of her amazing charcoal prints with all the proceeds going to the foxwar-ren-Solsgirth 4-h Beef club and the manitoba YcSA.

The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable at par at sale location unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made prior to the sale. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Bouchard Livestock Ltd reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should the purchaser fail to settle for his purchase, Bouchard Livestock Ltd reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage, either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale, together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any any cattle will be released. The owers, Bouchard Livestock Ltd. and sale staff have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment and/or who has not made prior credit arrangements prior to the sale with the owners and/or Sale Management.

Bid - Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No by-bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder.diSPuTES - in cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. if no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final.PuRCHASER’S RiSk - Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.ANNOuNCEMENTS from the auction block will take precedence over printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements.CERTiFiCATE OF REGiSTRy - The proper Registration of Recordation paper, as the case may be, will be duly transferred and furnished to the buyer for each animal after settlement has been made.SHiPPiNG - Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale, but Sale Management or Seller assumes no risk. Exenses incurred are the responsi-bility of the purchaser. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping instruction when making settlement.GuARANTEE - All animals will carry standard breeding guarantee as specified by the applicable Canadian breed Association. At no time shall the seller’s liability exceed the purchased price of the animal.ExCEPTiON TO GuARANTEE - in cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void. in the cases of bulls, they are guaranteed to breed naturally according to applicable Canadian breed Association guarantee, but no guarantee is given that semen from any bull will freeze.HEALTH - it is the buyer’s responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. Bouchard Livestock Ltd as-sumes no responsibility for the health status of any animal in the sale.ACCidENTS - Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sale Management, auctioneer, or Associa-tion assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.RiGHTS ANd OBLiGATiONS - The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally bind-ing to both.
