congregation over the years they have beenmembers. Roberta’s health has declined sufficientlyso that this move became necessary.

Both Claude and Roberta made fashion statements ofa kind when they attended services on Sundays.Roberta’s dresses are elegant and beautifully sewn, reflecting an era when ladies tended to be moreconservatively and modestly attired than is commontoday. Claude on the other hand wears unique stylesof clothing that might best be called “eclecticchic!” From his signatory white beret to his flowerysilk shirts, from his gold necklace ornaments to hisspring-supported shoes, Claude Morency is anoriginal, and in more ways than one.

How many people do you know who have spentthirty years sailing around the world and living on a38 foot sailboat? Who have you heard of who quithis steady job in order to pursue his dream of a lifeat sea, picking up odd jobs in various ports of call inorder to support himself? Born and raised in FrenchCanada, Claude Morency enjoyed life as a globaltraveler, and still managed to marry and raise a son. Those congregants and friends who have regularlyattended “News Talk” prior to services on Sundaymornings, will no doubt recall Claude’s fairlyunconventional take on current issues.

Roberta on the other hand has been a land lubber

Requests from our administrator,Barbara Hatzfeld

Ushers are needed for Sundays.

Roberta on the other hand has been a land lubber(this is not the couple’s first marriage) who haspursued several different careers. Among them localradio and TV programmer, producer and scriptwriter; fashion designer; marketing manager; andpaid lecturer. One of her pet concerns is the largeamount of iron in American processed foods whichshe believes causes serious side effects in the body.To reduce the amount of iron in the blood, Robertarecommends frequent blood donations to the RedCross.

Roberta and Claude are both musically inclined. Heplays the harmonica and accordion, although helearned to master both instruments informally, byimitation and trial and error. Roberta enjoys singing. Our sanctuary has been graced on more than oneoccasion by the Morencys’ performing duets andsolos. Those who have spent time with them knowthe couple has a positive attitude, loves to laughand often puts happy smiles on the faces of folkswith whom they interact. Roberta and ClaudeMorency--we’re sure gonna miss ya!
