As a compulsory requirement for those undertaking a legal training contract, the PSC plays an incredibly important role in allowing learners to take the final steps to becoming qualified. In 2021, the Solicitor’s Qualifying Exam will bring an entirely new way of testing your legal knowledge and lawyering skills, consisting of two stages. SQE1 is a computer-based exam which will test your functioning legal knowledge by way of multiple-choice questions, mirroring the US bar exams. After passing SQE1, you will be eligible to apply and sit for SQE2, consisting of practical legal skills assessments such as client interviewing, advocacy and more.
