Only 60% of the population isconsidered to be literate. It is so very importantto continue our scholarship mission to helpgrow both Christianity and literacy in this nationwhere English is the official language. Unlikeyoung men who are expected to get aneducation, many young women stop going toschool around the ninth grade, which meansthey get married or find employment as hawkersor traders on the streets, either of whichprobably means financial hardship in the yearsahead.

We recently received the following informationfrom another one of our scholarship awardees:Alberta A. Dzadake is 19 and attends the ODAHigh School which is located in the EasternRegion of Ghana. Alberta is currently pursuingstudies in home economics. Her favorite classis mathematics. Her goal is to become anursing student. Her mother is a trader and herfather is a carpenter. She has two sisters and abrother. The family lives in Dodowa in the

Greater Accra Region. Albertas hobbies includereading and music. In the Bubiashie Church, she is a member of the praise and worship team.Albertas Email: [email protected]
