SPACE TO GROW

description

Full Boarding Full boarders live at the School during term time. After Saturday lessons there is the option to go home for the weekend and around half our boarders take this option. They return on Sunday evening ready and rested for lessons on Monday morning. Flexi Boarding At this boarding school, our local pupils, except in the Sixth Form, are 'Flexi Boarders' who stay for an extended day, often from before breakfast until after the evening meal. They spend their non-school time in the same houses as the boarding pupils so there is no 'them and us' between the two groups of children. They are at all times an integral part of the boarding school community, eating together, doing prep and taking part in intra and inter-house competitions, all of which are an essential components of Boarding School life. They sleep at School for between seven and ten nights each year and further nights may be available, according to demand and subject to availability

As a Boarder or Flexi Boarder at the Royal Alexandra and Albert

School you will join a school with the atmosphere and academic

excellence of a traditional boarding school combined with the very

highest standards of pastoral care. And that’s not all. You will have

access to a comprehensive programme of after school/weekend

activities, trips and enrichment opportunities.

With high levels of staffing in the boarding houses throughout the

week and during the weekend, you will always have the support of

someone who knows you well. Each house has an IT suite where

you can do your ‘prep’ in a quiet setting that will allow you to focus

on your work. If you want to relax there are comfortable shared

spaces in every house for you to spend time with your friends.

For those that board there are shared rooms with around 3 or 4

pupils so it feels like a sleepover every night. For the Sixth Form there

is the option of ensuite accommodation in one of the boarding house

annexes, or a room in our very own stately home, Gatton Hall.

“She loves her subjects, has fully

and whole heartedly embraced

the boarding experience and is

taking both the school and her

work very seriously”
