ITEMS OF DISCUSSION DURING CHIEF’S REPORT:
LOSAP figures have not been challenged after 30 days posted, so list is official
Injury to Fire Company member – being addressed
New equipment assignments have been posted; only change is that Engine 243 will be dispatched
for all mutual aid calls
Travelers Insurance surveyed the Fire Company and recommends the Fire Company has an
accident analysis process and performs a motor vehicle record review (drivers’ license checks)
annually; handbook will be updated; Plainsboro shared their policy for checking vehicle records
Chris Ciabattone received a letter of commendation from Stevens Institute of Technology for his
bravery during an active fire at the school where he was in attendance
Fire Company requests permission to purchase hydrant bags (3) and is researching 5” hoses
Most radios in the old engine will be able to be transferred to the new engine except the high band
(dispatch and helicopter landing for Somerset Co.); request to purchase a new radio was submitted
Request to remove old equipment; suggest donating
Spartan engine is expected to be delayed 2.5 month – there is a delay clause

August was a busy month with active fires
Coverage was good despite people being on vacation
1 new member is in training + 2 new junior members
Request was submitted to SB to dispose of old equipment
Engine 3 generator is fixed
Chief’s vehicle due to be repainted Oct 10; noise is caused by wheel cover (determining what to
do about it)
Somerset radios to be reprogrammed soon
All new equipment is in service
Garage is leaking; tarp on it for now; may need to replace entire building; looking into options
New truck was configured incorrectly; working with Spartan to get it fixed
Fire Company open house: October 9, 1-4pm

Fire Company open house on October 9 was a success: 75-150 people
3 Fire Prevention Programs were conducted for Fire Prevention Week
Request was submitted to SB to dispose of old equipment
Engine 3 generator is out of service due to a radiator leak
Chief’s vehicle was repainted
Somerset radios to be reprogrammed: Nov 1 deadline
New building approved by the SB Historical Society
New truck: Fire Company going to Spartan for final inspection on Nov 1
SB Districts getting together to purchase a new Fit Test machine and a new ID Tag machine
Fire Company looking into an alarm system that would flash when a call came in for those in
other parts of the building
Jim Robbins will be resigning from the Fire Company next year because he’s moved; he would
like to purchase his helmet and the Fire Company will purchase it for him as a thank you
Turnout gear to be ordered; other equipment requested (2 bank batter chargers; stokes basket)
Hazmat recovery is being reimbursed
