Hope you all have been
enjoying the varying weather and the beautiful
colors of the fall leaves this autumn. It has been a
nice reminder to take a moment and admire the
beauty of our surroundings during such a trying time
in the world today. I greatly appreciate everyone's
flexibility in our changing meeting days, locations
and the weather as well as our trip leaders’
creativity in keeping us able to safely gather
together. Thank you to Tim Birch and Terri Faulk for
leading our October events. For our November
meeting, we are going to return to Heisey's on
November 10 for a little bit of normalcy. Additional
details are available on page 2 below. We look
forward to seeing you there but also understand if
you are unable to attend. Cannot believe we are
only a few short months away from our favorite
season of the year - snow skiing/boarding
season! While things may look different in route and
at the slopes as long as we can ski down the
mountains that is all that matters! Continued thanks
to our trip leaders (Jane, Terri, and Karen) for
leading us through this challenging travel
year. Hope this newsletter finds everyone well and
healthy. If you have any recommendations for club
events or any feedback, please reach out.
Thank you,
Heidi
Stay Safe and Healthy, Heidi

To complement 250 inches of natural snowfall each winter, our snowmaking system covers 600 of our skiable acres. Under ideal conditions, Killington’s snowmaking system delivers 10 million gallons of water per day to more than 250 snow guns, covering 60 acres with 12 inches of fresh snow every 24 hours. Our snowmaking system features 88 miles of pipe and 1,700 snow guns (including more than 500 Low Energy guns). Killington's 17 snow cats groom more than 40 miles of terrain on a nightly basis.
We will be leaving for home on Friday. You can ski part of the day or leave at check out. The participating members will need to provide their own transportation to and from Killington.

FACTS & FLAKES
having fun in the snow
and more since 1972!
February 27th to March 6th, 2021 ~ Great news! We have 24 folks traveling with us
thus far. We have room for more. If you are wanting to ski west this year, you
SHOULD come with us, because otherwise, who knows if you can even get lodging or a lift ticket! We’ve got
both.
Winter Park encourages us to “Venture Out.” Everything is
changing so quickly regarding Covid restrictions and guidelines, and
it’s hard to say if things will get stricter or loosen up. Certainly too early
to say what exactly will be in effect by the time of the trip. However,
even if some things like mountaintop dining or bar service may be
somewhat limited, hopefully lots of powder on the mountain and no lift
lines! With more than 3,000 acres to spread out on, we will have plenty
of room to venture out to enjoy the fresh mountain air.
You can sign up for snow reports and up-to-date information: Click here to sign up.
The skiing will be awesome over 3000 acres, and, here are some other fun activities: Check out this list of 100
things to do! Here’s a peek of typical activities to enjoy.
Adventure by moonlight on the night snowshoe tour.
Snowmobile along the Continental Divide with Grand Adventures.
Ride the Panoramic Express Lift up to 12,060 feet.
Test out uphill gear and try your hand (or legs) at skinning with our Intro to Uphill Tour.
Sip a hot cup of coffee and stock up on sweets at Stoked Meeting House.
Try Ice Bumper Cars! That’s right, a very exciting new offering in the heart of the Village.
Eat a sweet, chocolatey sugar waffle from the waffle cabin atop the mountain.
Hit the slopes on a ski bike! Check out our Sno-Go Tours.
Lace up your snow boots for a riverside stroll on the Fraser River Trail.
Check out Winter Park’s newest brewery in the heart of downtown, Big Trout Brewing.
Browse the shops at Cooper Creek Square. You’ll find everything from one-of-a-kind jewelry to delicious
eats.
PAYMENT PLAN Next payment is due at the November meeting. I have sent you your balance via email. The on line
registration page may not show your true balance.
