It would be 6' wrought iron fence. The same type that is around the pool patio now. The cost was $6650 which included everything. This was the best estimate we received, and it was the original company that did the original fence, they have been in business a long time. Anyway, we have the money plus we would not be dipping into any money that was from present dues. Julie-- when you add on the removal of the old fence it comes to $7,100----sounds like a lot. Jansi and Sharon, I don't know fences as well as all of you---tell me what shape the fence is in that we have now. Sharon-- The chain link fence is not good. Kids can climb and also sneak under the fence. I vote to put the money in having the wrought iron fence. The pool has a lot of use at night from people off the road. We need to keep people out. Anyone can lift a child over the chain link, and then the child can open the gate to anyone. Let’s take care of this so we don’t have to worry about someone drowning. Too many kids hang out at the pool during the day that should not be there without their parents. My husband has offered to remove the old fence at his own expense. Julie-- With safety as the main point, I can see it being a necessary purchase. I just don't like spending unless we really need it----so it takes a compelling reason----I wouldn't want anyone one to drown, and I don't want older kids swimming late at night, especially those that don’t live here. Barb-- First we are talking about the safety of our children. In addition, kids that don’t live here are jumping the fence, as well as non-resident parents who put their small children over the fence to let themselves in. Barb-- The major thing that we need to decide on is the fence around the pool, we need to

decide whether we will go forward on replacing the fence around the pool or not. It would

be 6' wrought iron fence. The same type that is around the pool patio now. The cost was

$6650 which included everything. This was the best estimate we received, and it was the

original company that did the original fence, they have been in business a long time.

Anyway, we have the money plus we would not be dipping into any money that was from

present dues.

Julie-- when you add on the removal of the old fence it comes to $7,100----sounds like a

lot. Jansi and Sharon, I don't know fences as well as all of you---tell me what shape the

fence is in that we have now.

Sharon-- The chain link fence is not good. Kids can climb and also sneak under the fence. I

vote to put the money in having the wrought iron fence. The pool has a lot of use at night

from people off the road. We need to keep people out. Anyone can lift a child over the

chain link, and then the child can open the gate to anyone. Let’s take care of this so we

don’t have to worry about someone drowning. Too many kids hang out at the pool during the

day that should not be there without their parents. My husband has offered to remove the

old fence at his own expense.

Julie-- With safety as the main point, I can see it being a necessary purchase. I just don't

like spending unless we really need it----so it takes a compelling reason----I wouldn't want

anyone one to drown, and I don't want older kids swimming late at night, especially those

that don’t live here.

Barb-- First we are talking about the safety of our children. In addition, kids that don’t

live here are jumping the fence, as well as non-resident parents who put their small

children over the fence to let themselves in. Secondly, as far as the fence goes, I have

mentioned it before, the links will have to be re-tightened since they have been stretched,

and in some areas you can literally climb under the links. We currently have $46,754 in the

bank. We have already paid for the pool renovations. I feel this is a needed and wise

investment.

Jansi---will get another quote to see if we can get a better price.

Board Meeting at Barb’s---

Board met at Barb’s and reviewed latest fencing quote from fencing person Jansi found.

Board decided to go with him.

Barb met with the fence person Jansi recommended. His wrought iron fencing product was

not dipped and coated like the previous first choice. The price was a bit better but, it

would require painting in near future and would not be any cheaper in the long run. Board

met at the pool in early May to compare fencing materials. Board decided to go with

fencing from original company, which was maintenance free, would match the existing

fence around the patio, and can be installed relatively soon. Also noted that original

wrought iron fence around patio was still in excellent condition, and is 12 years old or

older. Board felt like it was a good quality fence, and would address the previously noted

safety and security concerns in the best way.
