A very small fraction of which are Board Members

THE CONDITION: Board Members are a small fraction of the NESEA community

A larger, but still small fraction actively participate
And a larger quotient, would like to participate
Some members have leadership potential
Board members know and are connected with some

… but not all are potential leaders

THE CONDITION: The Board has contact with a small fraction of the NESEA community
The ED & Staff get to know and evaluate others

THE MESSAGE Limited contact with the full NESEA community and limited engagement with potential leaders constrains the pool for both leadership growth
and qualified nominees for the Board

WITHIN THE NESEA COMMUNITY?
BE365 Social ScaffoldingRecognize and develop each stage of community participation and consciously support members at every level of engagement
Every member understands HOW and WHERE they fit in
This is called“Social Scaffolding”
HOW CAN WE STRUCTURE A BE 365 SYSTEM TO DEVELOP LEADERSHIP?
A curriculum driven system that aligns BE 365 content with presentation “channels”
Members take on roles aligned with personal capacity. Those capable advance to greater responsibility.
THE GOAL
Recognize and develop the leadership capacity that resides within the NESEA
community to create member driven and staff supported projects and programs
that advance NESEA’s mission.
Build a bench of strong NESEA leaders.
THE STRATEGY
Expand the ambition of the Nominating Committee to the development of the
leadership potential that resides within the NESEA community.
Create a LEADERSHIP WORKGROUP that includes members of the Board, the Staff,
and a select group of NESEA members.
