She also thanked thebusinesses that supported BarnFest 2016 aswell.

Board Vice President Jim Weidmanmentioned that he attended the GrayslakeVillage Board meeting as the Cornerstoneproject was on their agenda. He said that themajority of the project is outside of the D46boundary. It helps the Village of Grayslake, but not CCSD 46. He is excited, though, tosee it start and hopes it will extend into D46boundaries. Unfortunately, Grayslake doesnot have much property within the D46boundaries that can be developed. Mr.Weidman recommends that we start visitingother village board meetings as well as try topromote development in other villages withinthe D46 boundary.
Superintendent Correll mentioned that sheand Leslie Armstrong McLeod,Webmaster/Media Relations Specialist for thedistrict, attended the INSPRA CommunicationContest luncheon this past Friday to receive

1. What do we want all kids to know and learnto do?
2. How will we know if kids have done thosethings?
3. What do we do if kids haven't learned whatwe think they should?
4. What do we do if kids have already masteredwhat we want them to learn?
Discussion of the next steps in thedevelopment of Board GoalsBoard Member Tom Meskel printed up asynopsis of where the Board is now from theplanning meeting with a consultant in June, toindividual input from the board members. Hementioned it has been very difficult for he andBoard Member Jill Alfrejd to meet. He thinkslong range goals also need to be consideredand that the next step is a working boardsession to put it all together. It was decidedthat this needs to be a meeting held in thepublic. Board Member Jill Alfrejd thanked Mr.Meskel for all of the time he put into this. Shesuggested not setting district goals until theSpring when goals can be implemented overthe summer.
