Updating
The 84100 + AE5 connector is designed for the iDRIVE audio system WITH LOGIC 7 and the connection is located on the left in the boot behind the panel. WARNING: installation with a 84100 + AE5 connector to vehicles equipped with parking radar and/or GPS causes the sound to be cut-off when using the kit for the phone or for music. Moreover, the sound from the kit comes out only through the front speakers in music mode.
N.B. the 84100 + AE5 connector is also compatible with the MKi range, however its installation is NOT recommended (music from the kit only through the front speakers).
For the MKi range, we recommend installation with the OASI optical box, for optimal use of the MKi.
To get the most out of your hands-free kit we recommend that you update your software regularly. The update procedure can be found at

Using the plastic trim tools, unclip the panel of the
dashboard, without unplugging. it
Using the plastic trim tools, unclip the air conditioning cover.
Unplug the connectors. Using the plastic trim tools, unclip the car radio cover.

Unscrew screws 1, 2, 3 and 4, located around the car radio, then
pull and unplug the connector and the antenna.
Using the plastic trim tools, unclip the cover located on the
passenger side of the dashboard.

Open the glove compartment, unscrew plastic screws 5 and 6,
located at the back and then remove the cover.
Remove the passenger door seal.

Finding an ACC wire
At the bottom of the glove compartment, on the fuse box.
Connect a wire with a 1.5 mm flat terminal, insert it into the row of small fuses and pass it to the car radio. (Check for the presence of
the ignition feed with a multimeter.)

Connect the ACC wire to the blue wire connector 84103 or to the
spare blue wire connector 86102 with a round terminal.

This stage is only necessary if using connectors 84103 and 86102. For the OASI digital box or the 84100 + AE5 connector the ACC wire is not required

Microphone passage
Glue the bracket (supplied) to the cabin light cover, after having
thoroughly degreased the surface.
Using the plastic trim tools, run the cable under the head liner and then to the windscreen post.
Run the cable replacing the seal on the passenger door.
Next pass the cable into the dashboard, via the right side.

Run the cable and attach it with the wire ties under the
dashboard , behind the glove compartment towards the radio.

Feeding the accessory cable
Pass the cable via the back of the glove compartment, towards the
car radio.
Reassemble the cover at the back by rescrewing plastic screws 5 and 6 then bring the cable out,
taking care that there is sufficient length.

For the iDRIVE, disconnect the optical fibre connector then connect it to the 86102/84103 adaptor. Then connect it all to the original connector and store the junction in the bottom left of the back of the car radio housing. Connect all the cables on the blue box as shown on the diagram below, then test before reassembling. Slide all the wires behind the car radio, towards the bottom left.

Pass the cable behind the dashboard cover to the left of the
air vent towards the car radio.
Then glue the bracket (supplied) to the central screen cover on the
left, after carefully degreasing the surface. (TAKE CARE not to cut the cable when replacing the facade.)

Option 2: for the iDRIVE audio system, WITH or WITHOUT LOGIC 7. Assembly via the optical fibre box, which is available only for the MKi range. This installation will allow
you to listen to the sound from the PARROT through all the car's speakers, both for phone calls and for music. The volume, balance, fader and tone will be controlled using the car's own controls. The navigation system, parking sensors and all that is
normally heard through the car's speakers will be mixed with the MKi sound.
Fitting the hands-free system 1/3. Option 2
1 For the OASI optical fibre box, unplug the optical fibre connector and connect it to the box, following the diagram on the next page. Splice the 12 V battery and the earth (-) of the car radio connector, then connect the box's red and black wire.

Connect the fibres as per the diagram on the next page. (Note the direction of the arrows on the connectors.) Connect the supplied cable to the casing of the kit and all the other cables. Then switch on the ignition and check the status of the LEDs on the casing.

On E90/E91/E92/E93 3 series fitted with the LOGIC 7 audio
system, the connector is located in the box on the left-hand side,
behind the cover.
Unplug the rectangular black connector, connect the adaptor, then
pass the AE5 extension cable to the car radio, via the left side
of the car.
Pass the extension cable via the driver's side of the dashboard.
Then attach it with wire ties under the steering wheel and bring it out to the car radio.
Connect it to the kit and carry out operational tests.

Option 3: For iDRIVE audio systems WITH LOGIC 7. Assembly via 84100 + AE5 connector for the CK range only. ATTENTION: installation with a 84100 + AE5
connector to vehicles equipped with parking radar and/or GPS causes the sound to be cut-off when using the kit for the phone or for music. Moreover, the sound from the kit
comes out only through the front speakers on phone and music mode.

Test
Before refitting the system, switch on the kit using the ignition (or by starting the car). By pushing the central knob
of the remote control, you can check:
1 - That the menu is displayed on the screen. (language or iPod etc.) 2 - That the radio system is muted when the kit is in use. 3 - That there is sound through all speakers for music. 4 - That there is sound through the front speakers for spoken menus and handsfree calls. 5 - Pair a telephone with the kit to make a call. (Check that both the microphone and the kit are working.) 6 - Then turn off the ignition, check that the kit switches off and that the "goodbye" message appears on the screen. (If this fails, reverse the fuses on the kit's wiring harness.)

Reassembly
Refit the system using the following procedure: 1 - Reconnect the connector and the antenna to the car radio. 2 - Slide screws 1,2,3 and 4 back into there places around the car radio and rescrew them. 3 - Re-clip the car radio cover. 4 - Reconnect and re-clip the air conditioning controls. 5 - Re-clip the dashboard cover. (Take care not to cut the screen cable.) 6 - Re-clip the passenger dashboard cover.
