As one of Blyth Academy’s newest campuses, Downsview Park continues to build upon Blyth’s strong academic and athletic programs catering to the needs of student-athletes. Blyth Academy Downsview Park is well on our way to establishing ourselves as a unique space where students can prosper both academically and athletically!

We have a strong commitment to offering outstanding education coupled with unique opportunities for student-athletes to engage in sports-specific and fitness training throughout their regular school day. Our academic program runs from grades 5-12 with small classroom sizes, and focuses on preparing students for post-secondary education and career training. Our teachers and trainers care about their pupils, and give them all of the extra assistance and personal attention they need to succeed.

As the principal, my responsibility is to ensure that your child receives a top quality education within a safe, respectful (and fun) environment. I am a firm believer in a whole school approach and one of our major focuses here at Blyth Academy Downsview Park is to ensure ongoing communication between school and home. As such, we are able to better enhance your child's educational and athletic experiences.

Adam Hurley is the Principal of Blyth Academy Downsview Park School for Elite Athletes. He brings with him a wealth of experience teaching, coach-ing, and developing student-athletes. Educated at the University of Toronto (BPHE, B.Ed., M.Ed.), Adam employs his belief of reaching all students in order to maximize their potential at Blyth Academy. As an advocate for lifelong learning, Adam ensures that students develop a passion and enthusiasm towards education, while teaching his students the life skills necessary to be successful in their future. As a professionally trained Science, Math and Physical Education specialist, Adam promotes experiential learning, while integrating science and technology into the classroom. Adam is very passion-ate about the combination of elite academics and athletics at Blyth Academy Downsview Park and is excited to see the campus continue to grow.

Attached to the Academy, The Hangar sports centre features four indoor feields for soccer, lacrosse, ultimate frisbee, and many other sports. The faciltity was once an aircraft hangar for the de Havilland Aircraft Company, and later the Canadian Forces.

• Four to five hours/week of advanced sports training in any selected sport (hockey, soccer, baseball, basketball, track, lacrosse, etc.)

• Up to five hours/week of fitness training with customized training plans for each sport

• Ability to earn a ninth academic credit in a high school year (Physical Education Credit)

• Hoop Dome, attached to the Academy, has four indoor basketball courts

• Scotiabank Pond, right next door, has four hockey rinks

• Other neighbours of ours include Beach Volleyball Canada, True North Rock Climbing, and TFC soccer
