PRIESTS CONVOCATION August 27-29, 2019

For your information: Archbishop Jose Gomez has called a gather ing of all of the pr iests who belong to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles for the purpose of renewing our priesthood.

I ask that you pray for of us during these days of prayer, discussions and fel-lowship, which are scheduled for August 27-29.

We will have one Mass only at 8:30am and no Confessions during these 3 days. Please make a note of it.

The Faith Direct program gives you: • A convenient and consistent way to support St. Rose of Lima by electing to use direct debit from your bank or credit card account. • The opportunity to support our parish even if you are absent from Mass for travel or illness. • A solution to a situation I know many families face on their way to Mass: where did I put my envelopes? • How does it work? • You can visit faithdirect.net and enroll securely online • For those of you who would like assistance please call Tony Gammariello at 805 915-4614. • You can elect to have your specified bank or credit card account debited on the 4th & 15th of the month for both offertory and any second collections you support. A few other considerations: • As a parish, we can collectively go “green” by eliminating the many wasteful envelopes that go unused. There is no

charge to parishioners for enrolling. In fact, every family signing up with Faith Direct means one less package of envelopes to print and mail out – and that will mean savings for our parish family. a “win-win” program for both parishioners and our parish. I strongly encourage you to enroll in this program today: I have complete confidence in this program’s security. I am grateful for your financial and prayerful support of our parish.

Joins on September 12—October 31 Galatians: “What must we do to be saved?”

The is the most important question a Christian can ask. Paul’s letter to the Galatians provides the answer and reveals the merciful love God the Father has for his children. The Galatians: Set Free to Live study speaks of the extraordinary gift of salvation Jesus has won for us and explains how we can unite ourselves to Christ’s redeeming sacrifice through faith and love.

In this 8-session program starts on starts Sept. 12th and goes through Oct. 31st. It is presented by Jeff Cavins who explains how Christ fulfilled the Law and set us free to live in the Spirit. Learn what “justification” means and how faith and works are an integral part of it. Discover how we become heirs to the promises and blessings of Christ through faith. This study will be a St. Rose of Lima School in room 8 at 7pm on Thursday evenings

For more information or to register for the upcoming bible

study, call Dr. Neil Fanning at 805-217-4300 or via email:
