Volume CXLI, Issue 2 March 2017 STUDENT CLUBS Student Council Play Unified Champions Club The Student Council is participating in the Interested in creating a positive Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) movement in our school? The Play Unified Pennies for Patients program, a program Champions club is currently looking for that helps raise awareness and funds in students that want to improve school honor of thousands of children and adults climate and culture through creative and joining fighting blood cancers. We are joining dynamic activities. See Ms. Duska if over 29,000 schools across the nation interested. to make a difference and raise as much money as we can over the next few weeks. Donation boxes will be placed in several classrooms throughout the building and in the main office for students to make small donations. Student council members will also be walking around the building to collect donations. We thank you for your anticipated support! NHS – NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY Every day, millions of children throughout Africa struggle to learn while sitting on the floor or on the ground outdoors. With the assistance of the Irvington High School National Honor Society, that will now change. The NHS rose over $500 in collaboration with

the K.I.N.D program (Kids in Need of Desks). An entire classroom will be able to be furnished with the money raised.

NHS – CHICKEN FEST Don’t forget to purchase your tickets for the annual chicken fest. For just $1 you can vote

to see your favorite administrator, dean, or teacher in the chicken suit! This year we have

the following candidates: Mrs. Michailidis, Dean Bryan, Dean Morris, Mr. Kornacki, Ms.

Rishiy. We were told by an unnamed source that Ms. Bennett, Mr. Evans, and Ms Wright

were too chicken for the suit! Ticket sales end March 16th.
