Elizabethtown has a decisive lead in the all-time series with York (Pa.). The Blue Jays have won 27 out of the first 35 meetings, though the Spartans got the better of E-town last season in York, Pa.

Last year’s game was one to forget for the Jays. York (Pa.) tied a season-high with 8 goals in an 8-2 win, scoring three times in the first half and five more in the second. Emma Christman and Abby Spessard scored for Elizabethtown, both coming in the second half. It was the first goal of Spessard’s career.

So far through September, E-town has traded wins and losses, with today’s game an opportunity for ECFH to start a multi-game win streak. This past Saturday, the Blue Jays blanked Washington & Lee by a final of 2-0. Brooke Zehr scored her first career goal in the first half and Olivia Beachley sealed the win with her team-leading third goal with 24 seconds left. Margo Donlin earned her third shutout of the season and made four saves in the game.

The Spartans got back to .500 this past weekend with wins over Albright on Saturday and Washington (Md.) on Sunday after starting 2018 out 1-3. YCP has 10 different players that have accounted for the team’s 11 goals so far this year, 7 of those players being goal scorers and 4 of which have more than one. Paige Taylor, Emily Shilling, Meghan Heary, and Greta Plappert each scored once over the weekend to help the Spartans back to 3-3. Heary and Plappert are tied with Sam Collis and Lindsay Nye for the team lead with two goals each. Goalie Sam Keating recorded her second shutout of the year on Saturday in York’s 1-0 win over Albright.

Susquehanna visits Wolf Field this Saturday, September 22, at 1 p.m. to open Landmark Conference play.
