Hannah Mace, Shelbie Gaines, Jackie Bradley, and Jade Lemmon paint pumpkins at the FBLA lock-in. “I really enjoyed doing crafts during the lock-in because I wouldn’t have time to do fall crafts any other time. I had lots of fun with my pals.” Jade said. The FBLA lock-in was held on Friday October 9th. This was the first year the FBLA has done this. They had an awe-some turnout and all of the members had a great time! The officers plan to do it again next year. Photo by Mrs. Tiffanie Gaines. Caption by Kaleigh Farmer
The Rock Port High School volleyball team hosted a pink out game in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. The volley-ball girls wore pink to support breast cancer. The north wall of the high school gymnasium was covered with papers written on by both jr. high and high school volleyball girls. Many of the girls played in honor of or in memory of family members or close friends who have or did have cancer. Before the varsity volleyball game fans bid on many items
in an auction in honor of Mrs. Emily Zech. Emily Zech was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Mrs. Zech is a second grade teacher at Calvert Elementary School in Auburn, Neb. Emily has a four month old son and grandparents who live in Rock Port. FCCLA raised three hundred dollars from pink out sales
and the auction. The money was donated to Mrs. Emily Zech. Sponsors who donated for the auction include Jennifer Vogler, Jonnie Kemerling, Amy Skillen, Lisa Farmer (A Perfect 10), Rock Port FCCLA, and Jennifer Kelly (Scentsy). In addition to the pink-out items and auction proceeds, Rock
Port R-II donated the gate proceeds, two hundred dollars to Emily. If anyone is interested into donating to Emily to help her fight this battle go to www.gofundme.com/aj5dxd4c. By Jackie Bradley

What will you be for Halloween?

Get in the Halloween spirit by tuning in to ar-guably one of the greatest Halloween movies of all time. Hocus Pocus is a family-friendly movie that tells the story of three witch sisters from Salem, Mass., who after centuries, are resur-rected on Halloween night.
