The Rochester RazorSharks of the IBA-PBL are happy to announce the return of the team’s all-time assist leader;Jerice Crouch, and the addition of Nayal “Mac”Koshwal to their roster.

Crouch makes his return to the ‘Sharks for his 6th season.

A native of Syracuse, Crouch has a career average of 13.7 ppg and 4.1 apg in 116 games played for Rochester.

Crouch is coming off a season in the NBL (Canada) where he averaged 18.1 ppg and 5.1 apg in 42 games while earning 2ndTeam All-League and was named to the All-Star team.

“I’m just happy to be back to try and help this organization win a Championship,” said Crouch. “ I’m looking forward to playing with the guys and playing for Cliff.”

Nayal “Mac” Koshwal, a 6’8” forward, born in the Sudan, grew up in Chicago where he attended Julian High School all before playing his college basketball at DePaul Univer-sity.

Koshwal was named to the Big East All-Freshman Team in 2008.

Koshwal averaged 16 ppg and 10 rpg in his Junior year at DePaul before leaving school early to declare for the NBA Draft.

Going undrafted, Koshwal has played in professionally in Spain, the NBA D-League, and has spent two summers playing in the NBA Summer League (Detroit Pistons & New Orleans Hornets).

“I’m very excited to have Jerice join the team,” said coach Levingston. “He is a Razor-Sharks fan favorite and he knows how to win.

“I think Mac Koshwal is the final piece of what we need to position ourselves to play for a Championship, said coach Levingston.

The RazorSharks are currently the IBA-PBL Eastern Division leaders with a 7-1 record and will host the New Jersey G-Force this Sunday, May 5 at 2:05p.m at the Blue Cross Arena.

Competitive, tough, a bulldog, fun, caring and laid-back are the words Wisconsin softball head coach Yvette Healy and pitch-ers Cassandra Darrah and Meghan McIntosh used to describe Tracie Adix. They may seem paradoxical, but the two separate phrases are apt descriptions of the Badgers’ third-year pitching coach.

Like Adix, plenty of players transition from participatory role in a sport to a coaching position in that same sport. However, unlike most players, Adix is now coaching with the same coach she was once recruited by and subsequently played for in college.

At a recent practice, Adix recounted her better-late-than-never approach, which landed her the job at Wisconsin almost three years ago.

“I was looking for a job the summer of 2010. I had applied for a lot of jobs and didn’t really get a whole lot back,” Adix said. “And I saw that [Healy] got the job here and I actually thought that her pitching coach was going to come with her, so I just emailed her and said, ‘Congratulations, good luck, and if you need a pitching coach, I’d love the opportunity.’

“In the time that she called me, I had already been offered a job [and] was setting up another interview with another program. I had a comfort level with her, having played for her and having played in the same program, so we talked and she offered me the job and I was like, ‘Heck yes.’ To be part of the Big Ten would be awesome, especially since where I did grad school was a little smaller school than what I was used to.”

Adix’s start in the world of coaching began a few years prior to taking the job at Wisconsin and like her start with the Badgers, her decision to begin coaching was also made in a last-minute fashion.

After graduating from DePaul University in 2007, Adix spent time playing softball in Europe. When one of her teammates left to take an assistant coaching job and with only three weeks left in the summer, Adix decided that she wanted to coach as well and get her graduate degree. So after applying to a graduate assis-tant position at South Dakota State University, and with barely any knowledge of the school, Adix accepted the position with the Jackrabbits.

“I kind of just jumped into it,” Adix said of her decision to go into coaching, admitting it was probably not the best route. “I’ve never been one for sitting at a desk and sitting in a cubicle. I like to be outside, I like to move and not sit in one place for very long. I think just my competitive spirit is what made me want to get into coaching. It was either that or firefighting, and my par-ents weren’t too fond of the firefighting, so they were like, ‘You should go into coaching.’”

Besides being the closest in age of any coach to the Badgers’ players, Adix also totes success within the field of her job as a player. At DePaul during her senior season, Adix went 22-4 with the fifth best ERA in the country at 0.89, and more notably led her team to the Women’s College World Series.

One of Adix’s fondest memories was during that 2007 playoff run when thanks to her arm; her Blue Demon squad upset Okla-homa — the No. 4 team in the country at the time — two games in a row to advance. Adix and DePaul eventually fell in the World Series quarterfinals, but Adix had certainly proved herself as one of the nation’s top pitchers.

“First of all, from an age standpoint it’s nice that she relates,” Healy said. “She’s younger and she’s cooler than we are, so she knows all the inside track stuff.

MANY DREAMS. ONE MISSION. - THE CAMPAIGN FOR DEPAUL UNIVERSITYThe Many Dreams, One Mission Campaign for DePaul University is an historic initiative undertaken in support of one of America’s great universities. It will ensure that DePaul continues to deliver on our founding promise: an excellent education for any talented student who seeks it.

The Campaign supports dreams. Students come to DePaul from across the country and around the world. Their dreams are many and varied, individual to each, as our students come from all stations in life. Many are the first in their family to attend college.

The realization of their dreams gives rise to new dreams and strong communities. The Campaign sup-ports DePaul’s mission, a mission which blends opportunity and excellence, inquiry and discovery, ser-vice to the individual and benefit to the larger community. It is manifested in the work that goes on here every day, in libraries, classrooms, laboratories, practice rooms and on the stage in hours of solitude and moments of connection

ATHLETICS CAPITAL CAMPAIGN SURPASSES $10 MILLION MARKAthletics provides an avenue of opportunity for students at DePaul. Athletics also helps build community and enhance DePaul’s reputation locally and nationally. As part of DePaul’s Many Dreams. One Mission. Campaign, Athletics is charged with raising $14 million. Strategically, goals have been set to raise the gifts to support scholarship endowment, facility improvements and programmatic sup-port. As of March 15, DePaul Athletics had raised nearly 10.2 million dollarsINSURE OPPORTUNITY FOR TOMORROW, TODAY THROUGH SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENTSDePaul Athletics fundraising efforts have focused on endowing scholarship and programming needs. Annually athletics spends nearly $5 million on scholarship expenses for its more than 200 student-athletes. By endowing scholarships, DePaul Athletics has the opportunity to enhance scholarships in some sports and redistribute available funding to maximize the department’s resources.A named scholarship requires a gift of $50,000. All gifts can be made in pledges over five years. Planned giving opportunities are also available. For more information, call Thad Dohrn at 773-325-7240.
