It’s Thanksgiving month, and we are thankful for

our guests! Happy Thanksgiving from the the

SECOND BLESSING GARMENTS CLOTHES

CLOSET! Our November opening is Saturday,

November 14 from 9:00 AM to noon. Come see us!

We have our cold weather clothing out - jackets,

sweaters, coats, men’s shirts, ladies’ blouses and

dresses, jeans, juniors’, children’s and baby clothing.

We would love to have you stop by to browse and

visit. New items are put out every month. We have

quality clothing for the entire family. There is never

any charge for any of the items. Freewill donations

are accepted. We are a compassionate ministry of the

Udall Church of the Nazarene. We always gladly

accept donations of clean good clothing. Please NO

household items or toys!! If you have any questions,

want to donate clothing, or have an emergency

clothing need, please call Gaylene Williams,

open on the second Saturday of each month from

9:00 AM to noon in the church annex at 2nd

In preparation for the this Cancer Society promotion, Udall Church of the Nazarene will have resources and Nicorette gum to give out (while supplies last) on Saturday, November 14, at our Second Blessing Garments Clothes Closet opening from 9:00 AM to noon.

REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING CITY OF UDALL Monday, September 14, 2015 The Udall City Council met for the regular council meeting on Monday, September 14, 2015, at 6:30 p.m., at the city building. Mayor Brown called the meeting to order. Roll call was then taken with the following council members present: Michael Grahem, Ryan Moore, Randall Smith, Jason Tharp, and Damon Wilson. Quorum established. Attending were Andrew Marino, Rozella Sherman, Berniece Milsap, David Dill, Erik King, Eric Allen, and Lulita Hopkins. MODIFICATION OF AGENDA: MOTION: by Smith, second by Moore, to accept the agenda as proposed. All voted aye, motion carried. BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR:

1. Berniece Milsap of Wheat State Telephone addressed the council requesting an update on the Post Office situation. Mayor Brown talked with Guy Moerkel today and he state the landlord has two weeks to meet their requirements or they will be ending the lease agreement. He again assured Mayor Brown Udall will not be left without a post office. Berniece thanked him because this has been a large inconvenience for Wheat State as well as other businesses and all the residents of Udall.

GENERAL DISCUSSION:

1. Ryan Moore reported as a member of the Udall Community Historical Society that their group has donated $500.00 to the Udall Splash Park. In addition, Ryan has 15 vendors scheduled for the Shop Till you Drop event at the park this coming Saturday. All booth fees are going toward the Splash Park Fund. Saturday the 19

th will also be City Wide Garage Sales.

City Wide Clean-up will be September 26th from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm at the City Shop.

CONSENT AGENDA: MOTION: by Smith, second by Moore, to approve the consent agenda minutes of August10, 2015, Expenditure Report for 8-11-2015 to 9-14-2015 of $323,965.13 and Payroll Account Report Totals of $21,225.94. All voted aye, motion carried. OLD BUSINESS:

1. Phase II Water Project – MOTION: by Wilson, second by Smith, to table to the next meeting. All voted aye, motion carried.

2. Dangerous Structures –ACM Removal will be in next week to remediate the asbestos from the City’s property. D & T Trash & Hauling is on schedule once demolition can begin. MOTION: by Wilson, second by Tharp, to refuse proposal from William’s attorney. All voted aye, motion carried.

MOTION: by Wilson, second by Tharp, to refuse proposal from Blum’s attorney. All voted aye, motion carried.

3. Streets – millings are completed and some asphalt repairs. Schedule to begin resurfacing soon. NEW BUSINESS

1. Resolution #300 appointing Randall Smith and Michael Grahem as voting members representing Udall for the Kansas Power Pool. MOTION: by Wilson, second by Moore, to approve Resolution #300 appointing Smith and Grahem as voting members of the Kansas Power Pool. All voted aye, motion carried.

2. Review Sumner Communications proposed lease agreement. We have received the signed lease agreement from Sumner Communications with amendments of a three year term and rent of $200.00 per month.

3. Enrollment and travel expense for Asst. City Clerk. MOTION: by Wilson, second by Moore, to approve CCMFOA enrollment and travel expense of $585 for the November City Clerk’s training. All voted aye, motion carried.

4. Special Event CMB License for October 2 and 3, 2015. MOTION: by Moore, second by Wilson, to approve the Special Event Cereal Malt Beverage application for Friday, October 2, and Saturday, October 3, 2015. All voted aye, motion carried. MOTION: by Wilson, second by Tharp, to go into Executive Session for 10 minutes to discuss legal matters with right to call legal counsel, Erik King and Lulita Hopkins. All voted aye, motion carried.

Meeting resumed at the proper place and time. No action taken. COUNCIL MEMBER REPORTS: Tharp – Port-a-pots have been ordered for Fall Festival. Smith – Reported on Kansas Power Pool retreat held earlier this month in Kansas City. Good speakers, good information. There are several events coming up in November that would be of benefit to the council. STAFF REPORTS: Hopkins – The court software is no longer supported so other companies are going to be investigated for electronic reporting to the state and other features. Vision Direct has requested approaching the employees regarding optional vision care insurance. The council would need to approve their business with the city employees. MOTION: by Wilson, second by Grahem, to approve Vision Direct salesperson to present their product to City employees. All voted aye, motion carried. Berniece Millsap asked one additional question, will there be demolition during Fall Festival. Mayor Brown stated there would not, there has been an injunction filed with the District Court with a court date of September 30 at 1:30 p.m. MOTION: by Grahem, second by Wilson, to adjourn. Sarah Werner will do a presentation at the Cooperettes meeting on November 12 at the Udall Community Building at 1:30 p.m. The public is invited to hear about the Kansas Sampler Festival. "The Kansas Sampler Festival is designed to provide a sample of all there is to see, do, hear, taste, buy and learn in the state. The festival will have around 300 exhibitors, including some selling Kansas products, three entertainment stages, 20 food vendors, and a Kansas beer and wine tent.
