Growers, packers and retailers had better, more efficient ways to ensure their harvest makes it to market in peak condition?

More of our produce could fulfill its ripest, most delicious potential?

We had new solutions to predict and prevent damage every step of the value chain, so we could utilize more of the food we grow—and feed the world with fewer resources?

Proof of Concept Scenario

• Problem Statement• Pears may arrive at retailers with firmness levels higher than desired for

immediate sale

• AgroFresh understands what is required to deliver pears with desired firmness and ripeness parameters

• Pre-Harvest treatments

• Post-Harvest treatments

• Storage Regimen

• Post-Storage treatment and conditioning

• Based on AgroFresh data, can a user interface be built on a blockchain, with smart-contracts, to ensure customers receive pears with the desired ripeness and quality characteristics, like firmness?

• Test data set taken from the Pacific Northwest

• AgroFresh data exists in nearly every country where pears are grown
