Blessed Trinity Parish Catholic Parishes of Calhoun County St. Francis of Assisi Parish

St. Francis of Assisi Parish Leaders Meeting Father Roberts and the Pastoral Council are holding the second quarterly “SFA Parish Leaders Meeting” at 7:00pm–8:30pm on Tuesday, May 16, at St. Anselm’s Parish Hall. The intent of the meeting is twofold: To communicate the status and next steps of the Bishop’s Stewardship and Discipleship efforts; and to continue the meeting quarterly as agreed upon at the last meeting. Parishioners are also highly encouraged to attend as well. We had a great turnout at the last meeting (nearly 50 people), and hope to continue that trend. Refreshments will be served. An overview of the results from the Parish Survey will be shared. If anyone would like to have an item added to the agenda, or if you have questions or recommendations, please call Brad Vacca 314-608-9302. Volunteer Totus Tuus Meeting There will be a meeting on Wednesday, May 17 at 6:45pm at the SFA church office for anyone that would like to volunteer with this year’s Totus Tuus. For more information or questions you may contact Bob Ellis (618-535-9372) or Terry Vacca (618-534-2748). St. Joseph's Picnic Committee meeting will be on Wednesday, May 17 at 7:00pm. Cooking chickens will be Saturday, June 24. St. Mary’s Picnic Committee will meet on Monday, June 5 at 7:00pm at St. Mary Church Hall. St. Mary School Golf Tournament will be held at Wolves Crossing in Jerseyville on May 21. If anyone is interested in sponsoring a hole, the cost is $50. A check can be sent to the school or contact Greg at 618-883-2908 or 314-306-4229 St. Norbert School Golf Tournament will be on June 11 at Wolves Crossing in Jerseyville. SNS is looking for hole sponsors. This can be a business or as a memorial for a loved one. Hole sponsors will receive signage at one hole on the course. It is $50 to sponsor a hole. Please send check to school or call school, 576-2514. Dishes at Legion in Brussels: several unidentified dishes have been left after funeral lunches at the Legion Hall. Please call Gloria Snyders if you think you have a dish/pan to claim, 883-2579, thanks. Mother Nature, Beauty, and St. Mary’s Cemetery Spring is here and cemetery mowing has begun. All Christmas flowers and decorations should be removed from your family’s gravesites. The forces of nature have not been kind to some of the other decorations (and gravestones) either, so please take some time to check out any extra care that your family’s gravesites might need. Mother’s Day is approaching soon, and it would be great to have our cemetery looking beautiful again. Thank you!! Thank you to the family of Jeanette Odelehr for the memorial donations to St. Mary's Altar Society, School and Cemetery.
