BLESSED FATHER’S DAY I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. When
you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble.Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life.
Proverbs 4:11 13
WWeek of: June 20, 2021
My father put up with Led Zeppelin music, my long hair, bell bottoms and a family car that I totaled. Besides being patient, he taught me tremendous lessons, many of them with no words. I'm eternally grateful. In fact, I use some of those lessons in my ministry now. But for some of you, your experience with your dad may not have been as mature and loving. If it wasn't, I hope that doesn't handicap your relationship with your Creator whom we often call Father. The Almighty is the essence of goodness and longs to embrace us.
“The Giver” ~Puritan Prayers and Devotions
We cannot escape from Your presence and control, nor do we desire to do so.
Our privilege is to be under Your omnipotence, righteousness, wisdom,
patience, mercy and grace; For You are Love with more than
parental affection. We admire Your goodness,
stand in awe of Your power, abase ourselves before Your purity. It is the discovery of Your goodness alone that can banish our fear and
allure us into Your presence.
SUMMER WITH THE SAINTS St. Anthony of Padua Feast Day June 13th
How many times have you and your kids searched the house or car for an item that you just can’t seem to find? Last week, the church celebrated the Feast of St. Anthony, who is known for helping people find things that are lost. St. Anthony was born in Portugal and lived his later years as a Franciscan priest in Italy. Anthony’s greatest gift in life was preaching to people and telling them about Jesus in a way that they came to believe in Him. He’s known as a “Doctor of the Church,” a title only given to those who have made significant contributions to church teachings. And he is also known as a great miracle worker, who healed the sick and raised the dead. St. Anthony is remembered as the patron saint of lost things because of his faith when a young Franciscan decided to leave the community and took St. Anthony’s special book of psalms to sell it. St. Anthony prayed that God would change the man’s heart and bring him back to the Franciscan life. The following day, the young man returned with Anthony’s book and decided to stay.
So, the next time you and your kids are frantically searching for a misplaced item, take a deep breath, and call upon the saint of lost things, praying and trusting that God is with you and that all will be well.
Dear St. Anthony, please come around. Something’s lost and it can’t be found.

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. We need rollers (please bring a rolling pin if you have one), pinchers (a sit-down job), transporters (move pierogies from one table to another or to the kitchen). With many hands we could get done in two hours. We have a lot of fun and good conversations. Looking forward to seeing you.

June 27th – Peter’s Pence Collection
“By contributing to Peter’s Pence, we can all together support the Pope's mission through the
activities of the Holy See and the initiatives of solidarity in favor of the most needy, to whom the Church’s attention has been traditionally
directed.” Pope Francis BAPTISMAL FONT
For years, when you entered St Boniface the marble baptismal font from the old church was decorating the yard with flowers inside it. While it was pretty, I wanted a more sacred use for it. So, we are having it restored and placed in the narthex of the church to be used as your holy water font. What better symbol to bless yourself with than an actual font where hundreds of baptisms occurred. It will replace the small table that held masks and sanitizer. In addition, we found another font in the rectory. That is being polished also and will become the font at the rectory-side door to the church. Both of them will give us a prayerful continuity with the old church. As you dip your hand in the holy water, make the sign of the cross asking the Holy Spirit to re-energize your baptism. (Fr. Bill)
Rummage Sale Wrap-up We spent two months collecting donations for the sale, 4 weeks planning the sale and then we had the sale and it was a very blessed Rummage Sale. Thank you to all who donated such wonderful items we displayed and re-displayed all our stuff hour by hour just to make a sale and at the end we were able to raise $4, 203.60. And to the numerous volunteers that came to help from Tuesday to Saturday this could not happen without you. We greeted so many people through those 5 days, and saw so many smiles. In the end we need to remember one man’s junk is always, and always will be another man’s treasure. Thank you from the St. Lawrence Parish Activity Committee.
