A blast furnace is a type of metallurgical furnace used for smelting to produce industrial metals, generally iron, but also others such as lead or copper.
A blast furnace is very huge and wide, operation cannot be interrupted and temperatures are very high.
One of the most critical variables is the level at the top of the furnace: Our radar level meter is the suitable solution measuring without moving parts. It is able to measure up to 100 m at an angle of 4° only.
The cooling flow has also to be monitored by an appropriate differential pressure flow meter. Also pressure control is an essential element in order to ensure a safe and reliable process.
Our process instrumentation products meet all requirements for pig iron and steel production. They are robust and long-lived in daily use, give precise and reliable measurements and integrate well into the automation system.
