ConceptThe themes that will be shown in my music video will

be the illustration of the lyrics and just showing the life of todays youth for the for the song blame by Calvin Harris. The song is looking at the nightlife and the mainstream culture of today the idea of ‘blame’ is obviously key to the song and will have to be represented within my own video. The main characters in my video will be a group of northern teenagers (my friend group) showing their life and attitudes during the night. The idea behind it is to stress the genre and basically show them to be having a good time.

Lighting

For my video the lighting will be important as a lot of it will be filmed at night, the use of low lighting will be prominent and

there will be very little natural light and artificial light will be used. The use of car headlights and streetlights will be used to my advantage when filming. I will try to create particular shadows to give depth to some of the shots I have an idea to shoot a silhouette of the girls.

Camera and Editing

My camera shots will vary as there is a few characters evolved the shots will vary from extreme close ups to wide shots. I will have the camera both on the tripod and held and will use the first person technique as if the camera is their eyes. Most of the shots will be slightly shaky and rarely fully stationary. Editing will be fast paced to keep up with the song and will be advanced to keep some relation to the mainstream videos for this genre.

Narrative

Page 5: ‘Blame’ ts

There are two narratives that my music video will follow both featuring a group of northern teenagers but in two different environments, one being a house party and the other being set out and about following them in there activity’s. This is to illustrate particular parts of the lyrics and stay with similar conventions.
