Relieving Principal News with Louise Tate

Queen’s Birthday Weekend:

Next Monday is a long weekend so students return on Tues 12/06.

Dolphin Day K-2:

Next Thursday Mrs McInnes, Mrs Skorjenko and K-2 students will play host to Dr Liz and the Dolphin Team as part of Year

1-2’s recent dolphin competition winnings. The presentation will be informative and students will undoubtedly learn new

and interesting facts about dolphins.

School Semester 1 reporting:

Teachers will be using the long weekend to put the final touches on student Semester 1 reports. Each class will receive in-

terview timetables where parents can indicate preferred times for meetings. Students in Kinder and Years 5/6 will start

first due to the upcoming Canberra excursion. As usual it will be first in best dressed.

Child Protection:

Students K-6 will be working with teachers and facilitators from the YMCA, who will be presenting a Child Protection unit

from Week 6-9 this term. I have included parent information with this bulletin.

Music program:

Thank you to everyone who replied to the music program EOI. I will be collating the data and forwarding it on to the con-

servatorium. I will let parents know details as soon as I get them.

Small Schools Soccer Update:

Small school soccer game will most likely be played early Term 3, awaiting results of southern division games.

Peer Support Program Week 6

Our session this week in Make the Change: Stronger Together—our Peer Support module encourages students to identify

any behaviours or actions they feel are unhealthy in self and others. Skill building in identifying behaviours, inclusive prac-

tice and developing empathy assist students to transition into making positive decisions to change. This might be an oppor-

tunity for parents to remind your child about when they have handled change well and their skills they could use.

Peer Support Australia provides reading & resources specifically for parents www.peersupport.edu.au & use the parent tab.

Book Club Issue Update

We have just been informed that some technical issues were experienced with the Scholastic system for orders made from

Issue # 3, which has resulted in the delay of delivery. As soon as the books arrive they will be handed out to the children.

Sorry for the delay.

Book Club Issue # 4

Scholastic Book Club brochures have been sent home. The school deadline for ordering is 9.30 am on Friday the 15th of

June. LOOP orders are our preferred method, however cash with order form is still accepted.
