BLACKBOARD TUTORIAL In the summer of 1999, ECU purchased a license to run a course management tool called Blackboard (BB). ECU decided that Blackboard's simple interface and powerful capabilities would allow the university to create a seamless Internet presence. This is a program that allows professors a way to provide course materials online in a user-friendly environment. Exams, assignments, discussion boards, virtual chatrooms and contact for all class participants and instructors can be found once the student logs in. To log in , a student will use their Pirate ID and passphrase (same as email ). He or she will then be able to access all of the options listed provided in Blackboard. STEP 3: Courses. This screen shows recent announcements made by the instructor under ‘My Announcements’ and lists all of the courses the student is enrolled in within Blackboard under ‘My Courses’. Click each course individually.

STEP 4: First page and announcements. This is typically the first screen shown when logged in. It will list recent announcements posted by the instructor with an option to view all posted announcements.
