Black  Jewelz,  recipient  of  the  2014  International  Music  Entertainment  Association  (IMEA)  award  for  hip-­‐hop  rap  album  of  the  year  for  “Black  Market,”  began  composing  lyrics  at  age  11.  With  no  role  models  growing  up,  hip-­‐hop  became  the  central  aspect  of  his  life.  After  numerous  trials  and  tribulations  during  his  teenage  years,  including  expulsion  from  high  school  and  jail  time,  Black  Jewelz  was  able  to  use  rap  as  a  way  to  express  himself,  graduate  high  school,  and  turn  his  life  around.  What  birthed  from  a  lack  of  mentors  and  money  was  an  amazing  ability  to  perform  a  cappella  raps.  His  passion  for  rap  drove  him  to  display  the  excellence  of  his  artistry  by  whatever  means  necessary.  As  a  member  of  Jeremiah’s  Kall,  Black  Jewelz  began  to  work  with  a  professional  engineer  in  a  professional  studio.  Black  Jewelz  album,  “Black  Market,”  has  been  followed  up  by  his  lyrically  motivated  mixtape,  "iLLethal"  which  recently  released  March  27,  2015  and  he  will  be  touring  this  summer.
