Cork Digital Marketing Awards

BiznetCork Skillnet created the Cork Digital Marketing Awards in 2014 and 2015 to showcase, highlight and recognise the outstanding achievements of Cork businesses, who are doing extraordinarily well in the digital world. Both the 2014 and 2015 Awards boasted several hundred entries from start-ups, SME’s and Corporates. With Awards ranging from Best Use of Twitter, Best Use of Video, Best Website to Best Zero Budget Digital Marketing campaign, the Awards have proven to be a remarkable success for the network.

Coaching Leaders Forum

BiznetCork established a Coaching Leaders Forum in 2014 to provide a forum for graduates of the Certificate in Business & executive Coaching (FETAC Level 6). This has been widely welcomed by these graduates as an environment to continue and develop their leadership experience.

Graduation Ceremony

BiznetCork holds an annual graduation ceremony to highlight the achievements of the graduates of our accredited programmes. This is always very well attended and graduates receive a commemorative token to honour their achievements.

Building Relationships

BiznetCork has strong links with key stakeholders in the Cork region, all of which help to promote our position as a key provider of business skills training in Cork. The network works closely with local Job Clubs, Employability Services and Social Welfare offices to highlight and promote our jobseeker supports. The Network Manager sits on the Board of the Irish Institute of Training & Development and represents Skillnets Ltd on the Regional Skills Forum.

Further Education

Our core competence is providing business skills training in the Cork and Munster region. To ensure we maintain and nurture this key skill, the networks management team are conscious to upskill themselves on a regular basis. We have recently completed a Certificate in Career Needs Assessment and an IMI Diploma in Strategy & Innovation, with the aim of ensuring the network grows year-on-year.

2014 JSSP Programme

BiznetCork Skillnet ran 2 very successful JSSP Programmes in 2014, involving a Certificate in Consultative Selling (FETAC Level 6) Course followed by a 4 week work placement with Intercall, Ireland’s largest outsource specialist. Both programmes were very successful and we surpassed the targets set for us by Skillnets Ltd.

Also, in 2014 BiznetCork helped one of the jobseekers, Eugene Canavan, to secure an interview with The Kingsley Hotel. Eugene was very anxious to work in the hospitality sector but unfortunately had been unemployed for 4 ½ years prior to commencing our programme. Eugene was successful at interview and today is employed as Concierge in The Kingsley Hotel!

2015 & 2016 JSSP Programme

For 2015 & 2016, BiznetCork Skillnet is delivering a Diploma in Digital Marketing combined with a period of work placement for jobseekers. The Diploma will provide the jobseekers with the latest skills and innovative strategies in the area of Digital Marketing. The Programme has proved hugely successful with employers and we have secured work placement for each of the 20 jobseekers.

TESTIMONIALS

& SUCCESS STORIES

“I recently completed the Certificate in Supervisory Management course and I found the whole experience very beneficial. Mike Roche, the trainer, excellently delivered the course and he got the whole class to work together in a number of enjoyable activities. These activities helped put theory into practice and brought us all out of our shells. When I took the course I was relatively new in my managerial role but since completing the course I have really seen the benefits. Everyday in my work I encounter some area that was covered in the course, e.g. interview skills, budgeting and team leadership, and having the knowledge provided by this course really helped me excel as a manager. I would highly recommend this course to an aspiring or current managers.”

Anthony Roche National Space Centre (re the Certificate in Supervisory Management Course):

“I thought this course gave a great insight into what are the most powerful social media options for your business. The course is tailored so that a mixture of different types of businesses can come together and lend their opinions to one another about what digital marketing methods would work best for the target audience. It’s a great course for businesses who are just past the start-up stage and who want to begin using digital marketing to reach a larger audience. From Facebook & Twitter, to LinkedIn, Wordpress and Google Keywords, the course covers all of the most important mediums to make an impact and to stay ahead of your competitors in the fast-paced digital world.”

STORYBOOK

‘Cork Chamber Business School are a fantastic resource for all things training and networking. We have engaged with them for a number of different training programmes all of which were delivered to an excellent standard and highly rated by our team. Their programmes are extremely well organised and provide us with great opportunity to meet other practitioners from a range of industries. I have no hesitation in recommending BizetCork for our training needs.

Veronica O’Keeffe Organisation Development Manager, Laya Healthcare

“I recently completed the ‘Advancing Leadership Programme’ with Pat Lyons, Greater Heights. I registered for this course to improve my business coaching skills and to gain a coaching qualification. The course delivered all this and so much more! It has positively impacted on all aspects of my life, both personally and professionally. It has given me knowledge, tools and techniques to continue to develop myself. I got to know, share with and learn from a great group of people who attended the course with me. The course was very experiential and interactive and also Pat encouraged self reflection throughout. I highly recommend this course.”

Mary Hennessy HR & Training Consultant(re the Advancing Leadership Programme):

“The executive coaching programme is life changing both professionally and personally. It not only exposes the participants to formal coaching models but also encourages real-time participation in the coaching process during the course of the programme. This has the effect of demonstrating the theory but most importantly it is a powerful exercise in self-awareness and personal growth - all in the safe and experienced hands of Pat Lyons, who is, quite simply, amazing. We have added it to our leadership development programme at Newsweaver and have found it to be one of the most significant development tools on the programme.

Danielle Hegarty Organisational Effectiveness and Development Leader, Newsweaver (re the Advancing Leadership Programme):

Success Stories...The inaugural Cork Digital Marketing Awards were held in 2014 in order to showcase the innovative use of digital marketing by Cork companies. Eazy City was the overall winner and Julia Lynes, Eazy City, stated: “The awards gave a great boost to our marketing team and to the rest of the company. We always use the phrase ‘award winning’ now and it’s particularly useful when attracting talented new team members. The media coverage which came with winning the awards was excellent and it bolstered our place within the Cork business community”.

The River Lee Hotel attended our Inspiring Video Journalism course and created their own promotional video of their hotel, which they currently use to market their hotel abroad.

“Reasonable price and good reputation”

“The courses are always practically orientated, located in Cork, great for

building a network and are always of the highest

standard! There is also always a bit of craic with the

great Norma and Aoife!”
