Dedication I am not a Doctor and I am not telling you what to do. I speak from my own experience. I tried 3 times to quit during 14 years of smoking. I have been smoke free for so many years that it doesn’t need to be mentioned, I do know it was worth it. The quest to gain control of desire, to use willpower to fight temptation, and use mind over matter is the challenge, then maintain your ground, choose the better way…quit smoking.

Bizarre Ways to Quit Smoking and a Few Good Ways Too… Humor and hope are in the pages before you.

Bizarre Way Set up a plastic croaking frog on the table near your cigarettes to startle you before you reach for them.

Bizarre Way Only smoke cigarettes that you have mailed to yourself in an envelope one at a time. The cost of stamps will stop you from smoking. Good Way Keep your cigarettes high on a shelf so you have to really reach to get them. Good Way Save money since you won’t be burning clothing, carpet or your own skin or hair, you know those moments.

Good Way When you have that night before quitting smoking binge, promise yourself you are definitely quitting.

Good Way Take a “Selfie” picture of your nicotine stained fingers, and print it, or have it printed, then put it on your desk or kitchen table to remind you that the resin is in your lungs Bizarre Way Freeze your pack, put the cig pack in a plastic container and then in another with water in it and freeze it so you have to defrost it to have a cigarette. Good way If a family member or friend tempts you with even a drag of a cigarette, would it change yours or their lives in a bad way if you said no? NO!

Good Way Visit a health food store, go online, ask your Doctor, see what they have to help you quit smoking. You compare the products, see which ones you like, make choices and try, try, try to quit smoking until you do quit.

Good way Learn to like mouthwash, mints and even chew parsley to take your mind off smoking and forget the taste of cigarettes. Note: If you substitute nicotine products for cigarettes, it’s still nicotine that you are bringing in to yourself, so quitting that product would be next.

Good Way Don’t spend any more money on cigarettes, you gave them enough business. Bizarre Way If you Karate chop your pack, would it stop you from groveling to salvage the halves with or without the filters? NO. So pick a good way to quit. And no violence is necessary to quit.

Bizarre Way Wrap your pack with rubber bands so tightly so you have to work hard to get to the cigarettes. Bizarre Way Let go of your pack tied to balloons and let them fly away.

Good Way Start your quitting with a peace and quiet room to get your strength to say no to cigarettes or at least look forward to treating yourself to one in your own home or a rental. Good Way Will beer or drinks make you want a cigarette? Then don’t drink alcohol for the first three days.

Good Way If you can start your quitting on a short vacation there are plenty of places to have a quick 3 day break from it all.

Good Way Family and friends have a previous opinion that you smoke, so be sure to have 3 clean smoke free days behind you before you do any socializing with them, especially groups of them.

Good Way If you like the idea of relaxing, have freedom to eat and drink what you like, then start your quitting time in a comfortable place away from family and friends who would tempt you and for three days. Don’t over eat or over drink and drink a few cups of water per day too and watch your body work with you to rid you of the built up toxins.

Good Way Have a few cups of water each day. If you gain water weight, don’t worry, count your calories and 3 days after you quit most of the water weight will decrease and evacuate from your body.

Make sure there are no butts or whole cigarettes or cigars or pipes of any kind in the house or car and don’t buy any.

Summary Your breathing will improve. Your overall energy will increase. Your peace of mind will return. You will have less worries about hospital bills. You will have more extra cash to spend. Take care of yourself, stay well and quit.
