Congratulations! Your Birthday Party is being planned right NOW! We are extremely excited to be hosting your party at the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum Complex. In order to assist with any last minute questions or plans, here are some details about the day of your party.

1. What does the experience consist of?Birthday Parties at the Intrepid Sea, Air, & Space Museum are unique adventures that will have you exploring theentire complex while doing fun interactive activities which are catered to guest of all ages.

2. Do I get a discount if I’m an Intrepid Museum member?Yes! Of course you do. All Museum members receive a 15% discount on your entire order. If you are interested inbecoming members please inform a Group Sales Representative and they will be able to assist you.

3. What’s provided?With all packages you will be provided with a guided tour, (one) hands-on activity, simulator ride, food andbeverages, and paper goods for your guests.

4. Will I get access to the Space Shuttle Pavilion?Yes! All party packages include a 1 time admission to the Space Shuttle Pavilion. Please discuss with yourcoordinator if you would like to see the Pavilion during the party or have your guests see it after the party is over.If your party ends at or after the regular museum closing time the Pavilion will be a stop during the party.

5. What does the Itinerary look like for the event?Please see the following page for an overview of your birthday event.

6. What is the minimum group size? Maximum?There is no limit on how big the group can be, do understand that after 50 individuals you will have to pay anadditional fee for an extra host.

7. How many staff members will be working the event?Birthday parties include two hosts and a runner which will be working behind the scenes. Please keep in mind thatafter 50 individual you will have to pay an additional fee for an extra host.

8. Is gratuity included?Gratuity for your Party Host/s is not included in the price of your party; however, gratuity is welcomed andrecommended. We only accept cash and 10% gratuity is recommended, but it is absolutely up to your discretion.

9. What are the age limitations?As long as you’re celebrating and having fun there are no age limits. Event is ideal for ages between 3 and 12.Keep in mind that if you are older we have events available to cater to your partying needs.

10. How many adults do I need to bring with my group?All visitors under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a chaperone. One (1) chaperone is required for everyfive (5) guests. All adults must stay with the party at all times; no guests will be allowed in the party room till 45minutes after the party has begun. As the parent you also have the option of having your party be a drop-off party.For drop-off parties you must let your representative know 2 weeks before the event.

11. Do I need to pay for any additional guests?Your party package is based on a 30 person attendance. An additional charge will be applied for additional partyguests in order to accommodate their museum admission, food, XD ride, etc. A count of guests will be taken theday of your party in order to gauge attendance levels and any additional fees will be charged within one businessday of the event.

12. What happens with the gifts?If your guests decide to bring presents, your Party Hosts are more than happy to collect them and keep themtogether until the conclusion of the party. All gifts will be collected upon arrival and will then be taken to the partyroom. At the conclusion of your party, should you wish to stay in the museum presents can be stored in theGroup Sale’s office until you are ready to leave.

13. Can we bring our own food / alcohol?Alcohol is not permitted; Outside food is not permitted by the museum; however, if you have specificallergy/dietary needs, please speak to your event representative. You are permitted to bring your own birthdaycake, candy and chips.

14. Will there be enough food for everybody?All packages come with food and beverage for the number guests provided to the Group Sales Representative 2weeks prior. If in any case those numbers change you have a (1) week prior to visit for adjustments. Reductionsin your number of attendees made less than one (1) week prior to visit are non-refundable. Keep in mind that anyadditional guests on the day of the Party will not be accounted for with the food order.

15. Is parking provided for the guests?The Intrepid itself does not offer parking; however there are a variety of parking options around the museum.Please visit our website for more information. http://www.intrepidmuseum.org/Plan-Your-Visit/Getting-Here/Parking-Information.aspx . Keep in mind that the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum does not validateany parking.

16. Is there a drop-off location?There is not a designated drop off area but buses and cars can drop guests off in the employee parking lot acrossfrom the Museum.

17. How do I get to the Intrepid Museum?The museum is at Pier 86, located between 45th and 46th at 12th Avenue, otherwise known as the West SideHighway. You will find extended directions at the bottom of this document.

18. What to look for before and after the party?Everybody should enter the museum through the second floor of the Welcome Center to check-in at the GroupSales Desk and receive a wristband. This wristband is your admission tickets into our Museum and allows youaccess into the entire complex except for simulators. Please arrive fifteen (15) minutes prior to the start of yourparty. Any guests who arrive late, Museum Staff will direct them towards the current location of the party. After theParty we welcome you to stay in our Museum for an additional time to allow for the full Intrepid experience. Keepin mind that the event in itself is 2 hours and any time after that will result in a $75 fee.

Directions by NYC Metro Subway Take the A, C, E, N, Q, R, S, W, 1, 2, 3, 7, or 9 trains to 42nd St., then walk or take the M-42 West Bus to Hudson River (12th Ave). Walk North to Intrepid.

NJ TRANSIT From Penn Station, New York, take the A, C, E, 1, 2, 3 & 9 to 42nd St, then walk or take the M-42 West Bus to Hudson River (12th Ave.). Walk north to the Intrepid

Directions by Metro-North Railroad From Grand Central Terminal take the westbound M42 (Pier) (located outside the Vanderbilt Hall entrance of Grand Central Terminal, on 42nd St between Park and Vanderbilt Aves,) to 12th Ave (the last stop) and walk north to 46th St.

Directions from Water NY Waterway operates a ferry from Weehawken, NJ at Port Imperial Ferry Terminal and at Lincoln Harbor located at the Sheraton Suites on Harbor Blvd. in Weehawken, NJ. Ferry takes you across the Hudson River to 39th and 12th Ave, walking distance from the Intrepid. Call 1.800.53.FERRY for schedule and information or visit our website at www.nywaterway.com.

Directions for Driving From Newark International Airport, Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey NJ: Take New Jersey Turnpike North to Lincoln tunnel, exit to 42nd St. Turn left (westbound) to 12th Ave. Turn right on 12th Ave (northbound) to 49th ST. Make U-turn around barriers heading south to 46th St and 12th Ave.

From LaGuardia Airport, Queens and Long Island: Take Grand Central East (toward Long Island) to Long Island Expressway (westbound) to New York City/Midtown Tunnel (westbound). Exit tunnel toward 42nd St. Turn left on 42nd St (westbound), and follow 42nd St across town to 12th Ave. Turn right on 12th Ave (northbound) to 49th ST. Make U-turn around barriers heading south to 46th ST and 12th Ave.

From Kennedy Airport: Take Van Wyck Expressway north to Long Island Expressway to New York City/Midtown Tunnel (westbound). Exit tunnel to the right, northbound to 42nd St. Turn left on 42nd ST (westbound) and follow 42nd St across town to 12th Ave. Turn right on 12th Ave (northbound) to 49th St. Make U-turn around barriers heading south to 46th St and 12th Ave.

From Bronx: Take Cross Bronx Expressway (westbound) to Henry Hudson Parkway (southbound). Henry Hudson Parkway becomes 12th Ave. Follow 12th Ave until 46th ST. Intrepid Museum is on the right.

From Points North: Take Saw Mill River Parkway south to Henry Hudson Parkway (southbound). Henry Hudson Parkway becomes 12th Ave. Follow 12th Ave until 46th ST. Intrepid Museum is on the right.
