    Operation: 2009Fuel: wood

    Boiler supplier: AETT/G supplier: Mitsui

EPC: BWSCQuick facts: On 26 Apr 2006, a turnkey contract for the construction and delivery of this power station wassigned with a consortium consisting of Aalborg Energie Technik and BWSC. The site is in Margam, PortTalbot, and Western Wood is the first commercial-scale biomass power station in Wales. The installationhas the following main components: a wood chip handling system, an advanced grate and low-Nox boiler

    Operation: 2007

    Fuel: wood

    Boiler supplier: Kvaerner

T/G supplier: SiemensEPC: Siemens, Aker Kvaerner, Mott Macdonald

Quick facts: This is the UK's largest stand-alone dedicated wood-fired power plant and one of the largest

such facilities built to date. The 130mn plant uses about 475,000t/yr of sustainable wood and 95,000t/yr

of short rotation coppice. Steven's Croft creates 40 direct jobs in the Lockerbie area and should create or

safeguard over 300 jobs in forestry and farming as well as encourage additional investment in sawmills.

Work commenced in Oct 2005 and the plant started generating electricity on 11 Nov 2007

    EPC: Aalborg

Quickfacts: This was the world's second poultry litter fired power station. In May 2000, the plant was re-
