INTRODUCTION
● Photosynthesis is a process used by plants and other organisms to convert light energy, normally from the sun, into chemical energy which can be used as a fuel.
● It is an chemical reaction
STARCH IN LEAVES
● Starch is a store of energy. It is a carbohydrate and forms colorless grains.
● It is stored in the palisade and spongy mesophyll layer.
DESTARCHED PLANT
● A plant from which the starch has been removed is called a destarched plant.
● A plant is destarched by keeping it in an dark place, such as a cupboard, for two of three days.
● Once a plant is destarched it is ready to take part in investigations about photosynthesis
CARBON DI OXIDE AND STARCH PRODUCTION
● Take two flowers in a pot and cover those both plant with a plastic cover.
● Then in one plant keep soda lime and in another plant keep sodium hydrogen carbonate.
● Then observe for sometime.
LIGHT AND STARCH PRODUCTION
● The test for sunlight is an experiment. It is to check that the plant needs sunlight to make photosynthesis.
● The experiment = Cover two leaves of a plant with an aluminium foil and another leaf is plastic covering.
● After this find out which leaf has starch and confirm does it need sunlight or not
MINERAL SALTS
● The plants which has a lack of any mineral has one deficiency.
● If the plant have lack of nitrogen its leaves turn yellow and the plant shows poor growth.
● If the plant have lack of phosphorus it shows a very poor growth.
● If the plant have lack of potassium the leaves become yellow and the plant and grow abnormally.

LACK OF PHOSPHORUS
LACK OF POTASSIUM
