Christopher L. Stevens is the President and Owner of Carpe Diem Strategic Services (CDSS). CDSS is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business offering a range of consulting services on Privacy and Data Protection Program Management and Strategy; Privacy and Data Protection Risk Assessments; Privacy and Data Protection Training and Awareness; and Analysis of Corporate Privacy Program Practices. In addition to their consulting services, CDSS also offers comprehensive line of onsite and webbased training courses covering a range of issues including Cyber Awareness for the Business Traveler, Social Engineering, Data Breach Incident Response Team Training, and Healthcare Compliance. Chris is a retired US Army strategic intelligence professional that served in the United States Army’s conventional and special operations communities for over 20 years. Since his retirement from the United States Army, Chris has worked for the Transportation Security Administration, the Federal Air Marshal Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis, the National Security Agency, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. Chris also has over 12 years of experience working within the US Intelligence Community as a Senior Intelligence Officer and a Senior Intelligence Executive. These experiences have given him unique insights into the significance of protecting national security information from unauthorized data leakage and data loss. More importantly, they have highlighted the risks posed to individual safety and the Nation when national security classified information is divulged to cyber adversaries, nationstates, transnational extremist entities, or other nefarious actors. Chris is a Senior National Intelligence Service Senior Executive and a certified Senior Intelligence Community Officer. He is a Center of Excellence in Government DHS Senior Fellow. American  Military  University.  He  has  completed  graduate  certificates  in  strategic  leadership,  terrorism  studies,  and  other  related  fields.    Chris  possesses  the  certifications  from  the  International  Association  of  Privacy  Professionals  (IAPP),  the  gold  standard  for  information  privacy  professionals:    Certified  Information  Privacy  Professional  (CIPP)-­‐Canada,  CIPP-­‐Europe,  CIPP-­‐US  Government,  CIPP-­‐US  Private  Sector,  Certified  Information  Privacy  Manager,  and  Certified  Information  Privacy  Technologist.        He  has  also  completed  the  following  several  Executive  Intellectual  Property,  LLC  “Business  and  Technical  Professional”  certifications:  Intellectual  Property  Fundamentals,  Trade  Secret  Fundamentals,  Trademark  and  Copyright  Fundamentals,  Patent  Fundamentals,  and  Intellectual  Property  and  Social  Media  Risks  and  Fundamentals.  He  is  also  possesses  the  Carnegie  Mellon  University  “Capability  Maturity  Model  Institute’s”  Capability  Maturity  Model  Integration  Associate.”        Chris  is  nearing  completion  of  the  American  Health  Information  Management  Association’s  “Certification  in  Health  Information  Privacy  and  Security”  and  the  (ISC)2  “Healthcare  Information  Security  and  Privacy  Practitioner”  certification.      Chris  has  taught  data  protection,  national  security,  and  strategic  intelligence-­‐related  courses  at  the  baccalaureate  and  graduate  levels.    He  was  also  an  assistant  professor  at  American  Military  University,  the  University  of  Maryland-­‐University  College,  and  Hagerstown  Community  College.      He  currently  lives  in  Laurel,  Maryland,  with  his  two  rambunctious  Scottish  terriers  Magnus  and  Thor.
