Biography: Satish Gupta Satish Gupta is the founder, president and CEO of SB International, Inc., a privately-held steel company headquartered in Dallas. Mr. Gupta started SB International in March of 1981 while he was pursuing his MBA degree at the University of Dallas. The company began as a steel exporter but later, due to global demand, it diversified into the area of stainless steel marketing and became a global trader of prime steel and metal products in the domestic and international markets. Today, SB International is a leading manufacturer, processor and distributor of steel pipe and tubing products to the oil and gas industry in the United States and Canada. The company has been listed in the "Dallas Business Journal" as one of the 100 fastest growing private companies in Dallas/Fort Worth for five consecutive years, and continues to experience tremendous growth in the energy sector serving the drilling industry, as well being active in the global supply chain of natural gas to emerging markets. In addition to running SB International, Mr. Gupta is also a majority shareholder and member of the board of directors of SB Specialty Metals L.L.C., a full line specialty metals distributor with service centers located across the United States, and SB Navitas Tubular Inc., a leading distributor of steel pipe and tubing products in Canada with headquarters in Calgary, Alberta. Mr. Gupta has led to the formation, and serves as chairman, of various other affiliate businesses within the SB group of companies which focus on U.S. manufactured pipe and tubing as well as processing and finishing tubular products for oil and gas. Mr. Gupta received a degree in economics from Loyola College in Chennai, India. He graduated from the University of Dallas with an MBA in international trade and management in 1981. In 2011, his exemplary commitment to higher education continued at Harvard University via personal invitation into the Owner/President Management (OPM) Program. In 2013, Mr. Gupta graduated from, and became an alumnus of, the esteemed OPM executive education program at Harvard Business School. Mr. Gupta has received many business and entrepreneurship awards in the Dallas community, including the International Business Achievement Award from the Greater Dallas Chamber and the Outstanding Community Service Award from the Greater Dallas Indo-American Chamber of Commerce. He serves as a Trustee of the Southwestern Medical Foundation in Dallas. Mr. Gupta founded the Gupta Agarwal Charitable Foundation to support education, public health, medical research and the promotion of diversity and cultural awareness. He has also accepted a position on the Board of the Crow Collection of Asian Art in Dallas. Mr. Gupta has been a key supporter of the Primary Care Clinic of North Texas and the Greater Dallas Arya Samaj Cancer Clinic, both non-profit health care organizations providing medical care and cancer treatment to uninsured adults in Dallas/Fort Worth since 2003.
