H o w e v e r , in the course o f i m p l e m e n t i n g the I n s i t uD e m o n s t r a t i o n Phas e I I I , t h e F r e n c h L i m i t e d T a s k G r o u p h a sr e c o g n i z e d the need to e v a l u a t e a l t e r n a t e t y p e s o f equ ipment thatcan p e r f o r m those same "unit o p e r a t i o n s " . The groundwater s a m p l i n g and a n a l y s i s program in i t i a t ed as apart o f t h e I n S i t u B i o d e g r a d a t i o n D e m o n s t r a t i o n w i l l b ee x p a n d e d , t o d e v e l o p a d d i t i o n a l d a t a d e s c r i b i n g th e l o n g termimpact o f the b i o d e g r a d a t i o n p r o g r a m on the s h a l l o w g r o u n d w a t e r .

An HNU reading w i l l be taken on the downwind lagoons h o r e l i n e a t l e a s t every 2~hours d u r i n g th e day s h i f t , M o n d a yt h r o u g h F r i d a y , t h r o u g h o u t t h e Phas e I V a c t i v i t y * T h e s e r e a d i n g sw i l l be l o g g e d to m a i n t a i n a record of air emi s s i on l e v e l s thatoccur d u r i n g t h e various f i e l d o p e r a t i o n s .
