Who Created the logo? & Where was he from?

• The billabong clothing line/logo was found by an ex-Marouba Aussie surfer named Gordon Merchant. Gordon was one of the first people to introduce the leg-rope which saved many surfer’s lives. In 1973 Gordon and his wife Rena started making hand-made board shorts as a living and to also provide the surfers with good board shorts material.

Describe what makes the logo effective?

• The simplicity of the logo and how it describes it self with the two waves. The font and that it uses different colors for each of its product depending on what it is. It is also very eye catching because when you see the waves you immediately think of the beach and an image to people who are surfing and this is what they actually sell surf boards, board shorts etc.

Compare the logo design to your logo design. What is similar what is different?

• My logo is simple and it will change color depending on the product the same as the billabong logo. My logo does not contain any letters where the billabong logo does. The billabong logo changes its fonts of letters at times but since my logo doesn’t have any letters it doesn’t.
