May . 2010

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ,

Greetings to the 777 Crew. We always like to start out by thanking you so much for your prayers, encouragement, and support. The ministry of Bikers for Christ is literally “ministering” to thousands of people around the U.S., and in many countries around the world every month.

The Lord Jesus Christ has done some amazing things at BFC International Headquarters and Rushing Wind Ministries in the last few years. With our ministry growth - the bible shows us – that there comes “both a time, and a need” to delegate some areas at BFC HQ. God has truly blessed us, by allowing others to join us in various, much needed, parts of the ministry. We’ve had many “step up” to the plate. I’ll give you some introductions:

Rick Lebrun and Steve Presley are my Assistant Pastors at Rushing Wind (they both volunteer their services). Steve aka: “Estevo” also doubles as our lead-guitarist at RW.

Rick aka: “Ricky Rock-it” does just

about everything, including but not limited to, doing the ministry’s taxes, playing drums at RW, building things around HQ, and even working as an electrician! We also found out the boy can sing! Hallelujah!

Estevo’s wife Sandy sings on the worship team. Stella Lebrun (Rick’s

wife) has officially come on board as our bookkeeper and treasurer. She also helps in every and any capacity to serve, whether it is helping Rick run wires for the sound and lights or varnishing cabinets, etc.

Andrea Bearden-Kuhns continues to bless us as our t a len ted graphics , newsletter, and tract designer. Andrea used to come to a bible study at my house in the 80s and now helps out every week with a variety of projects. Our friendship has spanned nearly twenty-five years. Steven “California Bubba” Blair works tirelessly with the elders, and also works on the BFC database with his wife Diane.

Nick Rogers is our RW worship leader, he also does carpentry work at HQ.

Renee aka “Church Mouse” and Mom help with all areas of housekeeping - keeping HQ immaculate and spending a lot of time running the t-shirt shop.

Mark Hollowell works with International inquiries, and served as my first Assistant Pastor at RW. Mark moved to Montana and now also serves as the Montana State Elder.

"Mark is also a newlywed.” Proverbs 18:22

After 20 years we finally have an “official” part-time assistant. His n a m e i s T o n y Sportelli - a nice Italian boy. He is known as Rhino Man, “ a s ” h e works hard at any job he’s given, “and ”he tackles them “like a rhino! “He now handles all the shipping at BFC HQ and is very organized. If you have any special needs, you can a l w a y s r e a c h T o n y a t : [email protected]. Tony also runs sound at Rushing Wind, plays drums and conga’s, handles phone messages, and is gifted in various

areas of construction work at our building. He is definitely a God-send.

It’s amazing that I met him “once” at a local bike event, and ministered to him 20 years ago. We reconnected a couple of years ago

when he showed up at a San Diego BFC meeting, and joined the 777 crew. His faithfulness and willing heart to help in any and all areas, at both the church and BFC became evident to our leadership. He began tackling different things, and getting them done well.

I had the pleasure of introducing him to Ellie, a very sweet young lady at BFC. Tony told me – “you’re like cupid – you introduced us.” To which I replied, “Esther and I really love and protect Ellie like our sister , so you better be nice or cupid will turn into the Grim Reaper!” I had the pleasure of performing their marriage a year ago.

Across the U.S. and overseas BFC and RW Pastors, and State Elders “TOTALY ROCK.” Our 147 BFC chapter elders and their

hundreds of volunteers take care of business in their local areas, plus the dozens of various volunteers who help out so much every month. We love and appreciate you all, and could never thank you all enough – but we’ll keep trying. By the grace of God we are really learning to work together and becoming more effective! Our ministry is blessed by the Lord, and YOU - and with your help - it is running like a well-tuned machine.

Esther and I are doing well, and thank the Lord “everyday” for the members of Bikers for Christ and also Rushing Wind Ministries. She loves hanging out with all of the people at our little church and enjoys meeting the new, and old BFC members with me when she can travel with me. Besides her full-time job at Callaway Golf Esther has been busy planting flowers, and taking care of our home, and little garden. We’ve got a small side yard that has seven fruit trees. The climate here in southern California is great for growing a few different things and Esther really enjoys taking care of the house, yard and above ground garden when I’m on the road ministering.

Esther’s adult son Ramon also lives with us. He's an awesome young man, and is a great Dad to his 14 year old daughter Evonie. He's very involved in different types of ministry, and is studying to be a pastor. He ministers locally at a spanish church. We're both very proud of him. It's comforting to me, to know that Ramon and Evonie are with Esther while I am out there traveling as an evangelist. Ramon and I spend quite a bit of time in the Word discussing different Bible topics as together, we learn how to teach Biblical applications to our most precious, little flocks.

Ricky Rockit and I were blessed to attend NCOM, the National Coalition of Motorcycle Clubs, convention together this year with some other BFC leaders. We flew to Orlando, Florida and ministered to in-laws and outlaws.

We were joined in our mission by Pastor Fred G. who was kind enough to trailer up a couple of loaner Harleys for us which was a huge blessing. With the bikes we were able to terrorize (just kidding) Orlando, Florida together. It was a blast. Thanks to Pastor G. and Tom, aka “Road Dawg,” our human GPS for bringing the extra bikes in for us to enjoy with them.

We were also joined by: Paul W. (North Carolina), “Preacher” Troy (Florida), “Big Tim” (North Carolina), “Sidecar” Jeff (Texas), plus additional BFC members a from a few other states. We had a good time and actually got in some great rides before and after the meetings. We also spent a lot of time with Pastor Ron and the Covenant Confirmers from Tennessee who are a great bunch of brothers.

The National Coalition of Clubs Conference brings most all of the national clubs together peacefully to meet and discuss the laws that affect

motorcyclists around the U.S There were over a hundred different patches of bike clubs, associations and even

some Christian ministries who came together to meet and greet each other

and to talk some things over.

NCOM was the brainchild of Richard Lester, a (motorcycle attorney), who has really done a lot to keep us all informed and given us a

place to meet t o g e t h e r a n n u a l l y. I t moves around the U.S. to different regions across the land. The meetings are h e l d i n a different part of t h e c o u n t r y every year so that all of the

National clubs can participate. NCOM has helped the various COCs(Confederation of Clubs) organizations have a place to get together and work on legislation to make motorcyclists rights a reality in their various states. Through the voting muscle of NCOM we’ve been able to change some laws that affect bikers negatively.

It has really been helpful, as we work to introduce the ministry of Bikers for Christ. We can personally meet the leaders of the bike clubs in different parts of the country, get to know them, pray for them, and sometimes get involved with them in their home states.

Through our involvement in NCOM and the various COCs , God has opened some incredible doors for us to “really minister” to many bikers that might not attend regular church services. We actually have some BFC and Rushing Wind Ministers that have been able to pray with some bikers at their clubhouses, and have even been invited to lead some bible studies in various club houses.

You need to know that these types of activities are absolute miracles and answers to prayer, that the Lord has allowed BFC ministers to be involved in. We are truly humbled and thankful “that we’ve been able” to earn their trust over the years as we share God’s Word with these men and women that Jesus Christ died for.

Please continue to pray for us as we attempt to “boldly go where no sane ministries have gone before.”
