All Christians pray. The effects may be personally,

quiet, monastic or more expressive, like the
Pentecostal Christians. Some findprayer to be about
re-centering, while others find it to be about re-
connecting.Reasonsforprayingvary.Sometrustthat
the more one prays, the better chance that God will

make mistakes. Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice to
forgive our sins. One of the learning experiences
involved thekidscarrying theweight ofguiltandsin in
their backpacks. They discovered the load was easier
whentheirguiltandsinweregiventoGod.
The kids learned that attitudes and actions matter. We
can’tchangewhathappenstous,butweare inchargeof

that Jesus maintained a positive attitude, even though

The final day the kids were challenged to spread God’s

a strategy they hope will help protect people without

First, the building should be locked by peopleworking
aloneinthebuilding. Therehavebeenacoupleofun-
comfortable situations with strangers who came in
whenthedoorswereunlocked.
Second, the exit doors will be locked during worship.Ushers are assigned the task of locking the exterior
doors.ThedoubleSanctuarydoorswillbeopenedafter
the bell is rung, so ushers may observe and exercise

It will take awhile to adjust to these changes, but it is
better to add some safety measures, rather than say
later, “We should have done something before this
happened.”
