Welcome!A huge thank you for joining us at the festive highlight of the year, the Choir with No Name Big Christmas Singalong! Following a wonderful Christmas gig at the iconic Brighton Dome last year, we’re thrilled to be back with all four of our choirs. Tonight is set to be an absolute Christmas cracker, packed full of music, entertainment and singalong yuletide classics, so whether you’re an old friend or new, get those vocal chords warmed up and join in!

Thank You!We are so thankful to every single supporter, volunteer, fan club member, gig goer, company and trust who have helped us throughout the year. The passion, time & money you have provided has meant that our choir members get to sing every single week, make friends, learn new skills and build their confidence, as well as performing in incredi-ble venues, like the Brighton Dome. What you do is amazing, thank you!

Very special thanks to:

Brighton Dome for supporting this gig and making it happen. We are privileged to work with such brilliant people and be given the opportunity to sing in such a beautiful venue.

Inside Housing for raising money to support the costs of the gig tonight through their fantastic Christmas Appeal.

Civitas Social Housing for making a hugely generous donation to the Inside Housing appeal, meaning that the target was met in spectacular style, and our choirs could come together to sing for you tonight.

National Express staff across the UK for fundraising to support the cost of a coach to get our Birmingham choir to Brighton and back.

We cannot thank you enough for your support and generosity!

Proceeds from this evening will support The Choir with No Name, Brighton Housing Trust and The Clock Tower Sanctuary.

About the Choir with No NameWe run choirs for people affected by homelessness and other marginalisation. We sing uplifting pop songs, rehearse weekly (with a healthy, hot dinner at the end of rehearsal) and perform at a huge variety of places.

The reasons why someone becomes homeless, and the problems they face once they are in that position, are about a lot more than just a lack of housing. Our members face challenges that range from mental health problems, to relationship breakdown and bereavement, to drug or alcohol addiction. We believe that singing can lift you from those circumstances and make you feel good. It builds confidence, skills and lasting, genuine friendships.

Our choir communities provide the support members need to get back on their feet, as well as a chance to leave their troubles at the door and have fun. And nothing’s more fun than belting out Merry Christmas Everybody at the top of your voice! We currently run choirs in London, Birmingham and Liverpool, and are excited to be launching a new choir in Brighton in 2018, in partnership with Brighton Housing Trust.

“Music really does save people – this I know from per-sonal experience – and through music the Choir with No Name also saves people. It provides joy, encouragement and unconditional love. It’s a place to be yourself, and a place to be with others to encourage them on their own journey of discovery. Choir with No Name is a force for good in an often dark and lonely world.” Mina, Birmingham choir member

“If my life was a ladder, at the time I joined Choir with No Name I was on the very bottom rung of that ladder. Coming to choir got me out of my hostel and brought me out of my shell. It’s a really happy space. I’ve made a lot of life-long friends. Coming to choir was the start of me climbing up that ladder, and slowly but surely I got to where I am today – a confident, outgoing person.’ Dan, Liverpool choir member

I wish it could be Christmas everyday

When the snowman brings the snowWell he just might like to knowHe’s put a great big smile, on somebody’s faceIf you jump into your bedQuickly cover up your headDon’t you lock the doorsYou know that sweet Santa Claus is on the way

CHORUS: Well I wish it could be Christmas, every dayWhen the kids start singing and the band begins to playOh, I wish it could be Christmas, every dayLet the bells ring out for Christmas

When we’re skating in the parkIf the snow cloud makes it darkThen your rosy cheek’s gonna light my merry wayNow the frosticles appearAnd they’ve frozen up my beardSo we’ll lie by the fire‘til the heat simply melts ‘em all away

CHORUS: Well I wish it could be Christmas…

When the snowman brings the snow Well he just might like to know He’s put a great big smile on somebody’s faceSo if Santa brings that sleighAll along the Milky Way I’ll sign my name on the rooftop in the snowThen he may decide to stay

CHORUS: Well I wish it could be Christmas… x 2

Outro: Why don’t you give your love for Christmas

Merry Christmas Everybody

Are you hanging up a stocking on your wall? It’s the time that every Santa has a ballDoes he ride a red nosed reindeer?Does he turn up on his sleigh?Do the fairies keep him sober for a day?

CHORUS: So here it is, Merry Christmas,Everybody’s having fun,Look to the future now, it’s only just begun.

Are you waiting for the family to arrive? Are you sure you’ve got the room to spare inside?Does your Granny always tell youThat the old songs are the best,Then she’s up and rock ‘n’ rollin’ with the rest...

CHORUS: So here it is, Merry Christmas,Everybody’s having fun,Look to the future now, it’s only just begun.

What will your Daddy do when he sees your Mummy kissing Santa Claus? Ah-ah ahhhh ahhhAre you hanging up a stocking on your wall? Are you hoping that the snow will to start to fall?Do you ride on down the hillsideIn a bobby you have made? When you land upon your head then you’ve been Slade.

CHORUS: So here it is, Merry Christmas,Everybody’s having fun,Look to the future now, it’s only just begun X 4
